The doctors are great - if you make it past the rude receptionists. Every experience over the last few years with these ladies has been unpleasant. Having worked at a Dr's office myself, I am shocked by the way they handle people who are clearly only there because they are in medical distress themselves or with a family member. Rude, short with people, snappy, and degrading in the way they speak. You will stand there feeling like an idiot for a long time before they even make eye contact with you to let you know they will be a minute. Basic human compassion is missing here as well as courteous receptionist manners. It unfortunately isn't worth it to see the Dr's here, and we have found a new Dr. / Clinic.
I have one word about how I feel with this place and that is disgusted. My 5 year old daughter ended up throwing up in the waiting area. No nurses, or doctors came to see if she was ok or to ask how she was or made sure she was ok while we finished waiting. A nurse only came out to yell at me for letting her throw up on the floor and not in a bag then proceeded to hand me paper towel and told me to clean it up offering me no gloves, face mask, or even a mop. And when I asked for a bandaid to cover the large cut on my thumb (which is part of the reason we were there) they told me they would help me after I cleaned up. Walked out and will not go back. I strongly recommend the Acadia mediclinc just down the street.
Waited for 90 minutes just to see a rude, impatient Dr. Leakos who spent 2 mins with me and stormed out of the room. One of the worst medical experiences I've ever had.
Receptionists are so awful to deal with I'd rather live with whatever illness I have. Difficult to get a timely appointment and walk in waits always at least 2hrs.
It's a free clinic so yea the wait times are ridiculously awful, but I have found the doctors here informative and helpful. I do have to say, I arrived without an appointment ten minutes before they opened. I was the 5th person in, first thing in the morning and I still had to wait about 40 minutes. However, it's clean and if you're prepared to wait I have found that the doctors are generally pretty good.
Use this clinic for primary and walkin for many years. Rarely a problem, never had rude reception. Tracking doc down to respond to refill faxes can sometimes be frustrating but I have a specialist who fills most of those anyway. Wait times can be long for walkin. Been twice for that in the last few months, docs were great. No major complaints and I see a lot of docs around the city.
Been going to this clinic since 1999. The front end lady with raspy voice is so rude. Had my doctor write me a letter saying he would no longer be my doctor. ( after i called her a b*tch) I had called clinic 5 to 6 times in over a week trying to get a refill faxed to my pharmacy also had pharmacy fax request 4 times. Kept saying Dr would do it when he had time. Tried to book an appointment with him couldnt get in for 3 weeks. Had front end tell me they would call me back EACH time i called in no one ever did. Was beyond frusterated so after all the faxes and phone calls i call and was snapped at and treated terribly so i snapped( i know not becoming of me) i will be going to office manager and college of physicans!
I've gone to this clinic before and was satisfied with them. However, yesterday I came down with a horrible sore throat with the aches, a fever, and white spots on my tonsils. I couldn't get an appointment with my family doctor, so I came to Lakeside. I can't remember the doctor who saw me (brownish-red hair, glasses), but he barely looked at me. Looked at my throat for 5 seconds, briefly checked my ears, and didn't do a swab. He deemed it a "viral infection". He was in and out in a minute. Well this morning I woke up feeling much worse, swollen lymph nodes, and horrid spots on my tonsils. LUCKILY my family doctor was able to squeeze me in, and did a proper, thorough swab, and promptly prescribed me antibiotics.
I get that doctors are busy, but when you don't take the time to properly examine a patient seeking medical attention, it's rude and highly unprofessional. I wish I remembered the name of this doctor because I 100% do not recommend him. Don't call yourself a doctor if you don't want to take the time to ensure your patient has been properly checked over. Do better, Lakeside.
Coming to this clinic whenever we have an emergency on weekends. They were open on New year's day. We were lucky to see Dr. Baptist, he was very attentive to our case, was very understanding, invest a lot of his time and attention. He has different attitude and aproach towards patients then the majority of doctors here.
Very nice people! Very efficient! I went as walk in! Website was saying the waiting time was 20 min. It took me less than 2 min. Between registering at the front dest and meeting the doc! Very clean. Pleasant experience! I wish there were family physicians available here! Otherwise i would have given it five stars !
Very rude people! Especially the old lady with the raspy voice acting like a nurse there. I went in to pay for a doctors note very well aware they had the sign up saying no more patients for the night, the old lady was on the back- she comes out to help soneone- sees me and very rudely tells me what the sign says! If she bothered to have any customer service she would have known I was there to pay for a note! As the receptionist behind the desk had known! Very strongly suggest the walk in clinic down the street on Acadia! Those Dr's are very nice and helpful, the staff are just awesome! NEVER had a problem! Unlike these people who said my daughter didn't have anything wrong with her when in fact she had bronchitis and ended up in the hospital!
