So friendly and grateful for donations. Easy to get to. Very clean. Very full of animals. You can tell they are all very well taken care of. Will continue to donate and come to visit.

Amazing team of staff, prompt response always, animals dont have a better advocate than these people. Always going above and beyond for shelter animals and the community's pets when needed. The animals are in good hands with The Saskatoon SPCA.

When i needed a place to surrender four kittens, they accepted them, even when there was a waiting list. I am forever greatful for their help, and the kindness they give sheltered animals. I plan to pay them back by adopting a dog in the future. Out of humanitarian causes, they have my full respect.

Super friendly staff! Everytime I've been in here their animal numbers have been fairly slow which means they are definitely doing their jobs! Keep up the great work

    Buyer beware!

We purchased this dog during the long weekend in May. Unfortunately, we didn’t heed the warnings on the Kijiji website. The seller, Juanita, completely deceived us.
She guaranteed that the puppy we were buying was a purebred Havanese from parents who are CKC registered and “show dogs”. She told us that the puppy was born Jan. 22/17 (17 weeks old) and that the litter was registered by the breeder, the dog had been microchipped with this information and that she would send us her “papers” so that we could register her with the CKC. She explained why the puppy had only had one set of shots but she was unable to give us her vet records or proof of birth. Juanita told us several stories and lied about everything!
We took our new “puppy” to the vet and found out the truth. She was NOT purebred Havanese but a Havanese/Yorkie cross. She was NOT microchipped. She was NOT a puppy. Two vets confirmed that this dog is between 7 months to 1 1/2year old. (She has all of her adult teeth and they are covered in tarter.)
We also suspect that this dog has been mistreated. She is extremely timid and gobbles down her food. Her tail has been broken as it is L shaped near the end. Our vet indicated that this is what happens to dogs kept in cages in puppy mills.
We returned the dog to the seller. She refunded the amount we paid for her but refused to reimburse us for the full cost of the vet bill and vaccines she received. Now she is trying to sell her to someone else with false information.
DON’T BE FOOLED! This is NOT a purebred Havanese puppy!!

Nicest, most giving, polite group of workers and volunteers around. They are so helpful and always put the animals first.

Super nice staff who enjoy giving their charges good homes. They even stayed after closing time to finish my paperwork, so that I could take my new pet straight home.

Very frustrating. Was put on a waiting list for a dog, went to go visit him just about every day for nearly three weeks. Every indication was made that we had a good chance of getting him. When the day came we arrived right when they opened and asked if we could take him only to be told that they take 10 applications, we were far down on the list because they just give it to whoever was first with the application instead of considering the well being of the dog and who would be best to adopt it. We waited until an hour before closing and called, at which time the people chosen still had not arrived, but were still denied. Very broken hearted we went elsewhere where they explained they chose the best home for a dog instead of just whoever applies first. We have a decent sized fenced yard and my girlfriend is a vet so we were picked as the best possible candidate. Would never want to have to deal with them again and I feel sorry for the animals in their care.

SPCA has a policy that you can not have your name on two animals unless you are going to take the two animals. I did not know this but was upfront that I had two applications in for two different dogs for my seven year old girl. I received a call letting me know that I had to choose. I asked if I had to choose right away or if I could come in again and see the dogs again that afternoon. They said I could come in and see the dogs again. I didn't have to decide right away. We did, played with the one we wanted for about 30 minutes. When we went to reception to tell them our choice the list was full and we were not allowed to add our name to the list of people eligible to potentially adopt this dog. Our hearts were broken. No one told us. We assumed our spot was being held. But they do not hold spots. We did a lot of assuming and got ourselves hurt but what really bugs me is that the SPCA seems to have no empathy for the situation. They say sorry in the most annoyed way and it doesn't help. A call would have been nice saying that we better hurry and make a choice or too make it clear that our place is not being held. We will do better to not assume in the future as well.
