Ive had an experience here that left me scared.
I felt they over booked themselves and were scrambling to complete what they knew I came in for on more than one occasion.
I no longer go here as I have had some disturbing and confusing reports about the care they provided.
I just followed my instincts and left forever.
Enjoy a ridiculous bill for terrible work.
Everything they fixed had to be redone a year later.
I woke up suddenly with a horrible pain in my jaw, it seemed like it lasted for hours. When I called the Dental office, they told me they were booked but that they would give me a call if any cancellations came up.The front end staff were quick to call after a cancellation only minutes after I had contacted them. They were efficient, polite and really understood it was urgent.
I was brought in to see Dr. Junho Kim who had a very calming and gentle presence about him, although I am a very nervous person I felt comfortable letting him inspect my mouth. We found that I needed a root canal on my back molar and booked it right away. I came for my scheduled appointment and all seemed to be going well (I am very terrified of Dentists and needles as I've had extremely bad experiences previously at different dental locations) we got the freezing done and were ready for the procedure and that's when things got challenging. I had been in a very serious car accident months prior to this appointment and be it the bright light, the sounds of the tools around me or the past anxiety about dentists I couldn't go through with it. I fought off a panic attack in the chair which reduced me to tears of embarrassment, and frustration. Dr. Kim was extremely kind and gentle and stopped immediately when I asked. He told me everything was going to be okay and that I didn't have to go through with it that day. He said that we could try again with my prescribed medication for panic attacks (Which I struggle with often since the accident) or he could refer me to another dentist who specialized in more intense cases.
Embarrassed, I asked to come back and try again with Dr. Kim because I felt he was the right person for the job. Needless to say the second visit with the proper medication was a complete success, I did not feel scared, nor did I cry best of allNo panic attack and I am pain free.
Dr. Kim was patient, kind, understanding and extremely honest. He really took his time, answered all my questions and met all my needs. Going above and beyond any Dentist I had ever seen previously. I would 110% recommend him!!!!! Thank you so much to everyone at Ivory Dental for making me feel at home and comfortable despite my personal situation.
When my daughter had a dental emergency Dr. Wong was able to attend to her immediately. We've been Dr. Wong's patients for over ten years at Ivory Dental and I highly recommend Dr. Wong and the Ivory Dental hygienists.
Dr. Wong is fantastic, the staff are friendly too.
Went in for a cleaning and after they had found out my plan covered 100% dental, booked me in for a second appointment for a small cavity. Arrived for the second appointment and the dentist proceeded to go to work. Ended up drilling 8 holes throughout my mouth when originally it was supposed to be one. Have had one cavity throughout my life. Asked what he was doing and was told I have 8 areas of interest that need repair. Terrible job on all and my mouth wouldn't close properly, was told it would correct itself in a day or so. 3 visits later to correct the issues and the fillings were still too high. Stay away from Dr. Wong.
Fiancé also used Ivory Dental. Told them to only do what the plan covered and was called in for a second cleaning a couple months later. Cleaning was completed and bill was sent through email a month and a half later. Turns out it wasn't covered after specifically stating that only work covered under the plan is to be completed. Nothing was done to ammend this situation and now they have lost 2 clients.
The work she had done previously, however, was completed perfectly by Dr. Kim. If you absolutely need to use Ivory dental, have Dr. Kim do your work. Only reason for an additional star.
I was a patient of Dr. Wong's and he was great - went there for the past 10 years and then I had over 3 different dentists in the past 3 years..
I went in for a routine checkup and they told me I had 5 CAVITIES - YES 5! I felt really weird about this because I had just been there 6 months prior and how can someone get 5 in 6 months.. I got a second opinion and I had 2!!! The dentist I am now with was shocked and disbelieved as the 3 other teeth ivory dental claimed needed to be filled were in perfect condition. I DO NOT trust this dentist - I brought it to their attention and they treated me terribly.. I became a number not an actual patient - the girls at the front were rude. This was 2 years ago and I still feel sick to my stomach that I was so taken advantage of with such little care.
Also not to mention the girls at the front ALWAYS messed up appointments and would call and ask you to come in sooner or say later and one day they said they couldn't do my time (even though it was booked 6 months in advance) and I couldn't do their other times that day and they tried sending me a bill in the mail.
Also I got a quote for a crown at $2500 - yup CRAZY I know.. the new dentist I have now said it would be $1200 and with my coverage I would only pay $400 - that's an insane difference - they do not work with your plans or care about you - you are nothing more than a walking bank coming in and out that door!
DO NOT GO HERE!
Attended the clinic under 2 years ago for a minorly chipped tooth and checkup. During my first visit, I was told that 8 of my teeth had cavities and needed fillings and my wisdom teeth needed to be removed and I was in my early 20s. I had only had one cavity in my whole life prior to this instance. Skeptical, I decided to visit another Dentist in White Rock for a second opinion, and surprise! I was told that I had no cavities and my teeth are in perfect shape as they are to this day, the chip was fixed with no problem. In conclusion, I am never going to this place again, it really shows the 'buyer beware' factor when it comes to the dental industry. While the staff is polite, watch your wallet and mouth when you enter.
