I've been to Hub quite a few times, and have kept coming back because of the good craft beer list, decent ambiance, and good views of New West. But I went this weekend and was unimpressed with long wait times at the door and at my table for drinks. I'll say that the place is hit or miss depending on how well it's staffed when you show up. May repeat

Overpriced, slow service, terrible food. Went here over a year ago, decided to try it again with my friend, what a waste of time. Server didn't listen to what my friend ordered, brought her the wrong meal. I ordered a $15.00 caeser salad and the portion of chicken was maybe about 30 grams of chicken?! We didn't get to eat together, and when they made her the correct order, it took over 30 minutes to get out, and they offered to only take off 50% of her meal. Asked to speak to the manager he came over, didn't seem to really care, offered to take the item off the bill. He asked how my food was, I told him it was okay but the chicken portion was insanely small. He brushed it off and went on to lala land where I think he lives most of the time. The bottled beer was good, as I assume it was made by professionals. Clearly this establishment is not run by people who care about the experience. Only about making a quick buck.
Browns in the Brewery District has better pricing, better service, and better food.
Also reading some of the snarky remarks from the owner on here puts a bad taste in your mouth. Maybe that's why the food was so bland.response / report this review -

I would usually give this place a 5. I enjoy this place but last time I went was very negative experience. My brother and I arrived first and everything was great, server was friendly, talking to us asking what we had planned. Once my Asian girl friend and her parents showed up it's like the server changed, she wouldnt ask us if we needed anything, she never came by to check up on us, basically felt like she didn't even want to serve us. She was very rude to my girlfriends mother. After being treated like that I don't recommend this place and I honestly don't know if I would ever ever go back. Very sad, no one needs to be treated like that.

Good restaurant with a good river view. It is also right beside the New West skytrain station. Ample seating indoor and outdoor patio for summer. Good price is normal. Serves good beer. Also does happy hours with snacks. Service is good and fast. Definitely a good solid restaurant.

Love this place. Happy happy hour 3-6pm, prices are so sweet. Ordered a hub burger with salad. Impressed. I would strongly recommend this place!

Service is great! The food is not pricey it's average and pretty good for what you're paying. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The space is ample and inviting excellent view to the Fraser River.

Food was okay. My "garlic bread" was a bun with some grill marks, no garlic to speak of. I ordered a braised beef mac and cheese, they forgot the beef, then upon informing them of this they just plopped a meager amount of it on top and brought it back to me. No effort at presentation, it was obvious they just tossed it on the messed up one they brought out. My wife ordered a flatbread and after twenty minutes they said it was almost ready. 30 minutes after they said that it still wasn't brought out. They completely forgot it but still had it on the bill. Over priced. Won't be coming back.

This is a good pub/restaurant. Good selection of beer (they do have flights). The patio is nice in the summer. We didn't try much of the food, but what we did try was good!

Happy Hour is good - definitely come here for this. BBQ ribs, mini tacos, plus whatever is on tap hits the spot. Outside the of happy hour, it's not really worth coming. Tried the chicken karaage (portions were definitely too small for the price, only good for 1), fish and chips (red cabbage slaw was bland - needed more dressing), and the Yankee burger was dry. The batter used for the fish was delightful though. It's definitely gonna cost you $$$ for below average portion sizes.

I came for the convenience of the location and the overall experience here was average. I thought the food was kinda overpriced and the service was just very slow for the amount of people there. The quality of the food itself just didn't do it for me. It looked good, but it didn't live up to the looks.

Very convenient location and our server was very very nice. We've only been the one time, but my partner's poutine came out of the kitchen cold. Clearly they had taken fries that had been sitting out for a while and assumed that pouring hot gravy on them would warm them up. This was not true, unfortunately. But our server was so kind. We will probably try them again at some point.

Food was absolutely vile I ordered the burger and after 25 minutes it was freezing cold, the bun was soggy, and the meat had absolutely zero taste. Service was passable but with the forced tax of having a group of greater then 8 people was completely not worth it. In addition the music was too loud to the point that your ears begin to hurt. The only positive was that they had bottles of water to refill your glasses immediately without waiting.

I ordered the potato skins. I had one bite when the server asked me how are food was. We all nodded, as you do when they ask right away. (probably shouldn't do that next time). So anyways, now I actually taste the bite, and the beef was slimey and there was a bad taste to it. When the server came back, I asked them to take it away and bring me fries instead. His response to this was "since I asked you how it was initially and you said good, I cannot replace this for the fries, sorry about that". Basically refusing to refund the potato skins and at this point bring me something new. I then said fine, just bring me fries. Honestly I have no problem paying for the disgusting potato skins, maybe they need to work on their training and their cooking skills.

I've been here maybe half a dozen times. I've never had good service nor prompt food. Which is surprising as it's never busy. The food menu is lacking, the portions are tiny and the food is overpriced. Paying $16 for a chicken sandwich, one would think it's a good sized sandwich. Nope. 3oz of chicken in a tiny bun. Only thing they have going for them is their moderate beer menu. But good luck getting a beer in a reasonable time unless you're at the bar.
