This Holiday Inn was extremely convenient for visiting the University of Toronto. The bar immediately adjacent to, and accessible from, the hotel was also very good, and even had a karaoke night! The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that the room was a bit bland and there were issues with the information about dry cleaning, which is a detail, but was important for me on this trip. I believe that they've since updated the information, so no use dwelling on it, but it was an inconvenience. In any case, I would stay here again.
This place is in desperate need of a new life. Everything is worn and tired and broken. The bed was ok and the location offers good options for food and site seeing in walking distance.
The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed my stay. However, the WiFi signal was very spotty inside my room, so it was somewhat pointless. Other than that it is a great place to stay at.
The rooms are exceptionally dated. The bed was well worn, on the verge of being worn out. The room was in dire need of being redone. On the plus side, the location was convenient and we didn't have any problems.
Very friendly staff. Rooms are nice, beds are comfortable. Great location convenient to downtown areas and subway. Parking is reasonable for downtown and it is convenient to be able to get in and out without issues or additional fees. We had considered trying to find cheaper parking but it isn't worth it since it is so convenient to be parked under the hotel and any cheaper parking isn't that much cheaper. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice hotel to stay in without breaking the bank.
Very disappointed on the first day of our 6 night stay . I booked through the main Holiday Inn number and had asked if breakfast was included in our stay. The lady had clearly said that it was free for my husband and I. When I asked about my two boys , "of course , children eat for free ," is how she responded . She further told me the time when breakfast is served each morning and I was quite happy about that . Upon our arrival today , I asked about breakfast and they told me it wasn't mentioned on our booking ! They checked with "guest services" and after a long, long wait , finally they've offered us breakfast for ONE night .
They should only promise and offer things that they are actually going to provide the guests during their stay . It has been very awkward standing at the front desk for so long. Also the phone in our room doesn't work. Not a pleasant start. I'll give another review on our Day 2.
This hotel is very dated. The rooms need attention. Beds need to be updated. The room did not have a safe. For the price and location it was still a great deal. The saving grace is the excellent staff. Very helpful and friendly.
The exercise room needs an overhaul. Most of the mechanical equipment needs service or is non working. Free weights work.
The room was nice and was clean before and after the maid came, but the elevators were often out of service and at one point two of the 3 hotel elevators were not working. It had snack and drink machines which were good but twice I got an expired item. The parking was nice as there was a lot of space on the first floor. The location was very nice as we were close to touristy areas, transit, and also many different kind of food places. Overall the hotel was nice it just had some problems.
Excellent service! Although the room didn't have a safe, I could store my valuables in a safe box at Reception. The hotel is literally a 1-2 minute walk from St. George Station. You are within walking distance of museums, stores, and restaurants. If you feel unsure about your way around the neighborhood, the staff will happily provide you with a map of the area. You can also check out the University of Toronto since it is in the neighborhood. If you need you fix of Timmie's, rest assured that you are within walking distance.
Nice and basic hotel. Clean. Comfortable beds. Great location. Will come back next time I'm in Toronto.
Just off Bloor Street high end shopping. Convenient to subway for access to everything else downtown. Average nice rooms at reasonable prices and easy ramp parking.
The location of this hotel was great. It was close to the subway and within walking distance to most of the places we were going. The room was a little small but clean and comfortable. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
