We still had to wait for a table at 8pm. We were seated after waiting for a table for about 15 mins. The service was great and quick. The broth is nice and spicy. So good.

Poor service experienced during encounter with one staff in charge of queue management. Was instructed to wait outdoors when waiting space was still available inside. Short with patrons, and refused to provide an estimation of wait time. While waiting outdoor, staff did not come outdoor to update waitlist, while incoming patrons continued to head inside the restaurant, leading to poor queue control and people cutting in line. Previously visited the Robson branch and was satisfied with service and quality, but will not be returning to this location.

So delicious!!!!! Oh wow. This place is at the top of it's game. There are only 4/5 options on the menu so you know they've got it down to a fine art. I got the mild ramen. The broth was so rich with flavour! I would go back and get the exact same thing I loved it so much.
My only complaint would be that they make you wait for your table outside on the street even though there's room inside in the warmth! I think it's so people driving past can see a lineup and it creates a fuss. But really there was no need.
Overall it was phenomenal food. I would highly recommend a trip here!

Service was fast and friendly. This place gets really busy during lunch. Probably a touch overpriced for the quality of ramen.

The food and service is great. It has the Japanese feeling as most of the workers there are Japanese. They will also greet you when you enter and leave. This is great place to go get some lunch!

This is a long time favourite along Broadway. Typically quite busy so if you don't want to wait go for an early or late lunch. In house made noodles are amazing, as are soups and dumplings. Worth a visit!

Delicious ramen. Food comes very quickly. If there's a lineup it typically goes fairly fast.

The ramen here is fragrant, delicious, wholesome tasting. Really lifts your spirit. You can taste the care placed in the broth making. Superb!

More tables available and not as busy as the one in downtown. However, the tables were very close to each other and conversations may cross. Very fast service - food arrived within minutes of ordering.

For the noodles, you have the option of choosing the texture: regular, soft, or firm. As for the meat, you can choose how fatty you want.
They also have dessert, but remember, there is a minimum charge of $10.95 so one cannot really come in here just for dessert.

In the picture is miso ramen with regular noodles and lean meat (only 2 slices).

The fried chicken starter was really tender and crispy on the outside. The medium sized ramen looks small but the rich broth fills you up faster than expected. Frequently very busy at eating hours.
Prices are on the higher side of reasonable.

Soup is good but not spectacular.

Their noodles never failed to disappoint though. but beyond that, the pork is okay and the portion sizes are on the small side.

The location is more central if you're not in the downtown area and I think the food is about on par with the other location

Nothing outstanding or special. Flavour is at blend side.

While try to customize the richness of broth and firmness of noodle for my bowl, the server gave me "I don't know what you're talking about” face when it clearly stated in the menu that I can request it.

It's night and day when compare it to the same SANTOUKA in Japan.

We had to stop by here on our West Coast road trip after seeing this on Food Networks 'Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives'. There was a long line up, but it was worth it and we loved the food!

Definitely stopping by here the next time I'm up in Van!

Had the Peaceful stir fry with thin noodles. Will order the thick noodles next time. Enjoyed the prawns and squid but the pork was a bit chewy and the fish tasted like dirt. The overall taste was very good!

The ambiance is lacking. The kitchen is set up enclosed fully in plastic with a small hole, out of which comes the food. For the expediter to communicate with the chefs inside the plastic enclosure they have to knock on the clear walls or lean over food to talk into the small access hole. It's not particularly well set up, and I didn't enjoy the image of my food being directly underneath someone's face as they communicate inefficiently into the kitchen.

The staff were nice and efficient, so no complaints there. However, no one bothered to quality check my meal.

The food had a lot of inedible, chewy spice in it as well as bones so I didn't really enjoy it. The chicken had tons of bone in the small pieces, very little meat. I had to slowly eat and pick aspects of the inedible spices and bones out of my mouth constantly, which really detracted from my enjoyment of the meal.

Clearly I could have ordered more carefully, the menu did indicate that the noodles with chicken had bone in it. However, for what it was, the quality of the dish was low.

I might be back to try to get a better meal over the next year. For now though, I would give this place a pass in terms of recommending it to others.
