Belittled for my personal choices, sold expired product and refused a proper refund, and charged for services that I was not informed there was a charge for. Didn't finish my treatment and won't be going back to do so.
Hands down, the best acupuncturist in London. I have been receiving acupuncture for years out west, and upon returning to London, was concerned that I would not find the treatment I was accustomed to. Then I found Christine, she is a miracle worker. Knowledgeable and insanely intuitive. I will never go elsewhere.
The owner treats hard working volunteers like trash. Not worth your time or money. I also bought my grandmother a gift from here right before she passed away around Christmas, it was the last thing I ever got her, and before leaving the shop I noticed something else within my price range that would have suited her even more, when I politely asked if I could exchange what I had just gotten (because I couldn't afford them both) and I was rudely told that it wasn't part of their policy despite everything that I had already done for them that month.
You feel such a sense of CALM and Peace upon walking into Heaven Scent! I love all the selection of crystals and Christine's expertise helped me reduce my hip pain a TON! If you're looking for a great holistic health and wellness spot in London - this is it!
I worked here very briefly (for only a month) many years ago and can corroborate that the other 1-star reviews are true. The owner treats her staff very poorly and is very verbally abusive and manipulative. I'm frankly surprised she's managed to stay in business this long, what with burning bridges with both staff and customers constantly.
I was sharply admonished for trying to use my phone to take a picture of lamps I wanted to show my wife. "We do NOT allow photos within the shop!" I was so startled at being scolded I backed out of the shop never to return.
Absolutely horrible experience. I should have asked for the receptionist's name but I was too taken aback to do so.
The story:
I was walking on the street and saw a sign that advertised "beating cold and flu with herbal remedies", so I walked in to the store and said to the lady sitting at the front, "I am at the tail end of a flu and I still have a really bad head ache and body aches and I'm not really a fan of taking over the counter medicine" and as snappy and condescending as she could be, the receptionist says "I have Advil in my purse!" with a sinister chuckle and then says "I'm not a doctor, how would I know?". There are many things wrong with this scenario, none that I need to discuss as they are blantanly obvious. So as a good, nice human should do, I decided to ignore how awful she treated me and I continued browsing the shop. That's when I hear "well, I hope you didn't bring your nasty germs in here to get me sick". This was the cherry on top, so I politely turned around and left the shop. I will NEVER be going back to this place. The fact that someone like that is a receptionist blows my mind. A receptionist should be helpful, inviting, caring and KIND! I felt like I was treat quite the opposite of that. I
If I was running this shop, I would not have someone like that greeting(turning away) my potential life long customers.
Changing my review - the new website looks great and the prices are accurate.
I went to Heaven Scent hoping to improve my skin condition (Eczema) and had a very bad experience there with Christine Richards. She was rude and misleading.
I showed up late to my appointment and asked her if she would still take me in anyway. She agreed, but tells me that I "screwed up [her] schedule."
Christine Richards did not give a straight answer when I asked her a few questions about her prescribed three-month treatment. Is this [everything on the counter] all for the three months? "Oh, oh no." Will there be a maintenance treatment after the 3 months, or is it just the 3 months? "This is to fix it."
Despite this and being as desperate as I was, I didn't think twice about going ahead with the treatment - even with my questions truly unanswered. I handed her my card. (You can say it out loud: "Dumbass"). She tells me that I can contact her if I have any questions, so I emailed her with questions that I had unanswered during our first visit, like: How much will a month's supply cost? How much can I expect to spend?
She responded, saying that I can call her so we can book an appointment for a follow-up for $55 to have questions answered that I feel I should have received during our first appointment. Further, she refuses to give me a copy of her diagnoses. She told me that I will have to bring a notepad next time. Great
I spoke to a licensed Naturopathic doctor who mentioned that Christine Richards is associated with a number of fraudulent claims. She has a number of credentials mainly from Sri Lanka, but is not a licensed Naturopath, so her services are not coverable under health insurance - although I specifically remember her saying that they are. From the Naturopath's viewpoint, Richards gave me too many treatments at once and for too much money. I regret going to Heaven Scent. I do not recommend this place.
