As for the hotel it's an absolutely excellent experience for the right price. we've been coming here since 2001, because of its waterfront location.
We only had 1 inconvenient experience in 16 years. It was just this Summer: The person who was in charge to prepare the continental breakfast for the guests, (Ann) seemed new, but she said she wasn't. Long story short, there were no bread, or bagels, barely any food, only a bit of cold eggs nothing go with that. It was a long weekend Sunday, and she had absolutely no interest to help the guests and when we told her we have never had such a bad experience with the service at breakfast, she answere with an extremely harsh attitude, told us it's HER kitchen, and we have no rights to mention that her work might not be up to standard.
Anyhow, we give this hotel a 5 star because 1 employee not being up to standard cannot really change 16 years worth of solid relyable experience; as they say 1 bad experience only makes the overall experience stronger as there is no such a thing as always perfect, but owerall, this place comes close. :)
To answer the previous review, the rooms got outdated and the hotel is in a middle of doing a renovation, I suggest you try the newly renovated section you only have to ask for it, 20$ upcharge that is well worth it. I myself like things clean, so if you are picky, just ask for the upgrated rooms, they are very nice and up to standard for the price you paying, most definitely..:)response / report this review -

Not bad for the price. The room was clean, the shower was powerful. The hallways are covered in large grey bricks, giving it a very medieval feel. There are no elevators, but the hotel is only 2 stories. Buffet breakfast was included (toast, scrambled eggs, BACON, yogurt, cereal).
The hotel is right on the waterfront, albeit a bit industrial, it's still water.
The night we stayed, there was a country music festival in the park across from the hotel, so we could hear the music in our room. The surrounding guests REALLY seemed to enjoy it.
The front desk that checked us in was quite helpful. Later in the evening we discovered that the remote was not working for the tv, so we called the front desk. A new clerk was on duty and advised we could come to her to get batteries. We elected to pass as we were already in bed. She wasn't as helpful as the first clerk. I suspect she was the same clerk at checkout so elected to stay on the phone talking about her kids and dogs rather than checking the guests out.
Again, the room was cheap and clean.response / report this review -

Worst place ever! I traveled with my family here. A baby, a five year old and my husband and I. The price was right. The lobby was great. The rooms were disgusting to say the least. A musty cigarette smell lingered everywhere. The beds has sheets with holes in them. The shower was clogged with a moldy curtain. We were dry and cold, yet there was a humidity in the room as well. I cannot recommend you stay far far away from this place enough.
