Have never written a bad review, however, brought a picture in of a Pixie cut. Hair was to bottom of ear in pic. Was not even to ear hole. Had to remove glasses, knew there was a prob as soon as I put them back on. Even the hairdresser could do nothing with it when she tried to style it Speechless & in a state of shock I tipped and left.. Cut less than an inch all over, It is not a style it’s scalped. Wish I could share a picture. Never ever in my 67 yrs have I not been able to style my hair, however, this cannot be styled. Worse cut of my life. Call me sad.this will take months to repair. Friends are telling me to wear scarves or hats till it grows back. I look like Sinade O Conner

Nice, friendly environment and prices are GREAT. I was talking to a friend who moved to Nanaimo a year or so ago about hairdressers etc and she had gone to 3-4 different salons until she found someone she liked. She told me that the prices for cut and colour were basically the same at all the salons (higher than she had been paying in Alberta) and figured that that was the going rate here so she decided to stop looking. I told her how much it cost me and she was shocked! I paid $50-70 less for the same thing. I've been getting my hair done (cut, colour) by Chelsea for several years now and I would recommend her all day long. She's amazing!

My sons hairstylist did an awesome job, however the poor review is due to my daughter having to have her hair redone elsewhere. She has long curly hair, found out it was trimmed wrong and one side was an inch longer than the other. I guess it was partly my fault for not asking if they specialize in curly hair. At least I know now and luckily the new stylist we saw was able to fix my daughters hair, and maintain the length.

So I had one bad experience here but I have respect for the owner to reply to this bad experience I shared. She offered to make it right and did a bang up job giving me a short cut.
I am disappointed to have lost the long hair but I do have a fierce looking spunky short cut to show off.
I will return and give the salon it's deserving go to see what everyone else has been talking about with all the good service and cuts :-)

I have very thick hair I went in for a trim and some basic hair thinning. I asked to not have the thinning near the crown of my head and NOT to the scalp.
I took my glasses off he did his thing and now I can literally feel spikes in my hair.
I put my glasses on and I could see spikes of hair the most noticeable at the front forehead area of my head.
When I mentioned it he said just to use lots of product and mix it with longer pieces of hair.
Three years of growing my hair out just to start again. I wish I was a person who could make a bigger deal out of things but I paid and left. Obviously he didn't listen to my request :-(response / report this review -

Excellent salon and service from Rayna! The salon is clean and the staff are friendly with a professional yet casual vibe with customers and each other. No snobby stylists here! Staff with free time came over with tips for my stylist to ensure the best possible outcome and also offered beverages and refills regularly. What a nice touch! Rayna did an EXCELLENT job on my hair. I'd never seen her before and I was looking for a completely new style. She was open to my guidance on what I thought would look best, but also brought her expertise and I am thrilled with my hair, which is fine and straight and she was able to give it great body and style. Well worth the money (mid-range salon cost). She is also a very friendly and made me feel very comfortable and social right away, which usually is not the case with me and stylists. I saw a variety of clientele: women, men, children, and seniors. I think it's pretty likely the salon has someone on staff to meet all types of hair needs. And a big bonus is that they are open on Sundays! I will be returning and I hope this review encourages you to check out the salon because I know how hard it is to find the right stylist.
