Saw Mark W. for a series of appointments to help with a knee injury. Mark was very knowledgeable, and was able to give me progressive exercises that improved my strength and balance, and helped to minimize knee pain. I had a lot of questions, and appreciated being able to get information to improve my healing, as well as exercises. I feel like I left with a good long-term plan for daily support exercises, and appreciate that I can go back if / when I may need some more information. My thanks to everyone at Fowler for the great service and care.
Your right! The answering persons were rude and really don't care attitude.
Dr.Getgood saved my knee with a multiligament reconstruction! What an amazing surgeon and wonderful human being! I am also greatful to Devon, Brian, and all the wonderful staff at the Fowler Kennedy! I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic!!!!
All the Three ladies in the reception were extremely rude and mannerless, where were loud and least bothered about my concerns. Saw it happening with other international students as well who were before me in the line. Absolutely displeased !!
I have always liked the Fowler Kennedy Clinic however I am not impressed by my resent appointment with the doctor at SoleScience. I was charge for an assessment that never took place. The information provided was very general, unhelpful and I was in and out in less then 10 minutes. I would definitely never go back.
Awful visit. Doctor made it seem like there was nothing wrong with me, questioned why I was there although I could hardly walk, because there is something going on with my knee. Was very rude and inconsiderate, lacking in bedside manner.
I have moderate scoliosis, I believe I was told a 36 degree curve. I was referred to this clinic by Victoria Hospital after going in to Emerge to have severe pain in my shoulder looked at. I had an appointment with the doctor at Fowler and Kennedy who seemed very pleasant. The counter staff however have no manners in person, or on the phone. The doctor scheduled me for an MRI, and a 80$ physio session. According to the doctor I could have physio covered by OHIP at the hospital but it would take forever and encouraged me it was important to have physio treatment soon. So I agreed to physio at the clinic. A couple days later a friend of mine told me that it was not true it takes forever to get physio at the hospital. He had injured his wrist which required physio and the hospital very quickly offered him an appointment with in days. I don't appreciate that misinformation from a doctor, it leads me to believe this clinic was trying to scam me for physio sessions rather then help me. Regarding the MRI the clinic booked for me at the hospital, the clinic went behind my back and cancelled it on me. No body confirmed any cancelation with me. The only reason I was even aware it was cancelled was because I called the hospital to get directions to where radiology was and just so happened to also ask to confirm my MRI. In which the lady told me Kennedy and Fowler cancelled with no reason given. Otherwise I would have showed up after taking the time off of work to make it there. This MRI was kind of an important thing for me, it was to see if we could find what was causing me pain and other symptoms in my back and other areas of my body. Extremely disappointed in this clinic, makes me feel like I was failed once again by the health care system. Thankfully, I have an appointment with a spine surgeon coming very soon. Would not recommend this place to anyone. If there was a rating lower then 0, that would be my choice.
My daughter received ACL replacement surgery from Dr Getgood and had a remarkable
recovery. Her knee is as good as before the injury. All the staff was top notch no complaints.
I have been very displeased with the services I've received from both the Fowler and Kennedy Clinic as well as from Dr. Willits. It has been over a year since my initial assessment of my knee problems and there has been no changes or improvements since. I've called and left multiple messages with Dr. Willits receptionist over this past year asking for information and updates on my possible surgery without any response. Finally, after calling 4+ times without a response I left a message clearly stating my dissatisfaction. I received a call back, only to hear multiple excuses and to be told that nothing has been done. Multiple times I've had to wait 2 or more hours after my scheduled appointment in a waiting room with 20+ patients. When I was finally called to see the doctor there was no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused. Even more so, I had to speak with a co- op student for 20 minutes before seeing the doctor, basically having to reexplain the entirety of my injury and my past health concerns, which I was not at all happy about. When I have actually seen Dr. Willits he came across as very rushed, impersonal and condescending, traits that I do not want in an orthopedic surgeon. I've actually asked my family doctor to refer me to another clinic if things don't change soon.
As a result of a fitness injury I was told by friends and colleagues to visit the Fowler Kennedy Clinic at the Citi Centre Plaza.
I did as directed and found myself in a room for 25 minutes with a person whom I thought was a sports medicine doctor but turned out to be a student/apprentice. After the initial 25 minutes of "move your arm this way and that way" I finally met the person with the actual degree in sports medicine. To my surprise, he conducted the exact same movement tests, I had just endured, all in the while in serious pain. His immediate prognosis? Torn ligament requiring surgery! This prognosis, came without a single X-ray.
Surgery Surgery Surgery. The man insisted on the fact that I must have surgery as I am still young and don't want to be living the rest of my life with the injury. He continued to insist that a torn ligament is a non healing injury and unlike a pulled muscle, it will never go back to normal.
As I was upset about the news, I also did not fully believe the man's prognosis, considering no X-rays were taken or ordered, and the continued efforts to convince me of surgery.
Three months later, and after having ignored the uneducated "guess" of the buffoons I met in that clinic my shoulder has regained full range of motion and full strength. Granted I have not been able to attend the gym or do much with my arm in that 3 month period, but I would say the rest I gave my shoulder was well worth it. I am still unclear as to whether they lied about a torn ligament being a non healing injury or whether it was even a torn ligament to begin with. Either way, very unprofessional.
Moral of the story Fowler Kennedy Clinic is misleading, pushy, and inaccurate. I would strongly suggest to anyone with any sort of sport related injury to seek the advice of a different clinic to avoid being steered toward an otherwise unnecessary surgery.
