Always stop here before a show. Great service. Great food. Tasty beverages! Very busy place Location location location!
Not worth the money. Had previously rated this place a 4 star they got rid of the $5 creemore on Thursday and increased beer prices. Not to mention the photo I posted of the appetizer I got compared to the menu picture. There are better places near here.
This location of the Firkin chain of 'pubs' is leaving a lot to be desired. Was there last night for a bite and a drink before heading to Massey Hall for a show. Service was slow. Took about 15 minutes for our server to come to our table. Took about another 15 minutes for a beer and sangria, which took the same amount of time as our nachos to show up at our table. Server dropped 2 plates in front of me to place out (thanks, I can set the table here too, not just my home?!) and disappeared. We asked for water a couple of times, and it never appeared. The only thing that the servers were quick with was our bill and paying - that seemed to be their only concern. Will definitely think twice about visiting this firkin again.
Chicken is poor quality meat. Burger wasn't up to temperature it should be. Salt and pepper worked wonders to make this taste nice as I was hungry and too tired to go elsewhere. Curry was average. If you want expensive and restaurant style fast food it's the place for you.
Gave me the wrong order (free chips winner) but then they tried to charge me for them.
Easier to avoid this place
Loved this place We stopped in for a small bit to eat and a quick drink. Walked out stuffed and a bit of a Sunday morning buzz.
We ordered an app thinking it would be easy to eat. It was huge and tasty. omg I want it again just thinking about it.
Love coming here for way back memories. Excellent place for drinks and a night out. Service is great!
I cam here with a transgendered friend of mine for some beers. At one point she left to go to the washroom. She went into the women's washroom but was told she had to go to the other washroom by a customer coming out of the women's room (she still resembles a male so understandable). She just needed to pee and didn't want to have a whole talk so for the random customer's sake she just went to the other room and did her business. When my friend came back to finish our beers, the waitress had heard she tried entering the women's room and took our beers, called the security guy at the front and said we had to go. Our waitress said the reason was because my friend was too drunk trying to walk into the girl's washroom. Not only did she not even enter the washroom, she identifies as a woman and she caused no other disturbances whatsoever. We told the waitress she identifies as a woman and she replied "I don't have time for this" and made us leave. It is such a shame that THIS PLACE IS AGAINST TRANSGENDERED, while located so close to an LGBT community along church street.
I have had many a shepherd's pie and $5 pint of Butler's (house draft). Nice atmosphere and mostly pleasant staff. Good stop for a pint after work.
Came in out of rain. Sat at bar took awhile to get served. But I think she couldn't see me because of taps. Beer is good. Atmosphere seems nice.
Food was good. And service was good. But I paid $16 for a draft???? How on earth do you justify DRAFT beer being that much money??
Good food. Served very fast and very hot. Even for an incredibly busy evening service and food was great.
Popped by to kill some time and have a beer and a bite. Service was very good. Food was mediocre(curry rice dish) beer was on special(love that!) could have been colder but was definitely good enough. I will return but would order a classic pub dish not an international dish.
The vibe is typical Firkin, which at least means you know what you're in for. They make some good use of a narrow space with multiple floors. If you can snag a window seat, especially in summer, there's some decent people watching to be had. I don't find it to be as much of a tourist trap as you'd expect, despite being across from the Eaton Centre. Can get a bit busy straight after the nearby offices let out but it does down quick enough.
Ordered mild and honey barbecue wings and both were great. Really can never go wrong with wings. Also had the waffle and ice cream dessert which was fairly tasty and good for the value (5 bucks, which I split with a friend). A fairly plentiful selection on tap, service was sublime. Very welcoming & comforting atmosphere and enjoyed the music as well. Gets quite busy after 6pm, that's when they crank up the volume (it gets quite loud)!
