Douglas Guest house was a good place to stay for one night, while we were in Vancouver. The staff was courteous and the beds were cosy. BUT THE BREAKFAST! OH MY, SO GOOD!¡ They had great variety in food to eat. Although our thermostat didn't work, and the room was a little cold, they gave us a heater and were very accomodating to our situation. We were also refunded for one person, after they couldn't make it. There were a few cons, such as the bathrooms, and the rooms in general, which could use a little remodeling. Overall, Douglas Guest House is a convienient b&b to stay in while in Vancouver, and well priced as well. I would recommend it.
This was a great place to stay . Everyone went beyond there means to help me out in a tight squeeze Room was clean. Food was very good. I would recommend this place to everyone
The location was great for my purposes. While aged, the house is clean and has character. The staff was available and friend. For Vancouver, the price is tough to beat.
Really nice B&B. Good location with easy access to Skytrain at City Hall. Shops, bars, cafes and restaurants all within an easy walk. Breakfast was really good - yummy pancakes, french toast and omelettes.
Loved it, cute and cozy with a delicious vegetarian breakfast. The staff was courteous and friendly.
It was a very nice place. It was clean, the people were kind, and the food was great. I would recommend it as a place to stay over if you are passing through!
Excellent location for shopping, subway, city hall nearby and a walking distance to downtown Vancouver. Friendly staff, good breakfast, and comfortable rooms with room convenience needs such a cable television and good Wi-Fi reception. There is a place to park too. The area is safe and secure.
Clean comfy bed and included breakfast. Pretty much all you need since we arrived late and just needed a place close to childrens hosptial. Good location!!
Not a bad option if you have more kids
We stayed at the Douglas Guest House in thw past. It is a wonderful clean and very pleasant place to stay. We had two rooms with a pricate bathroom. There is a share kitchen.
In the morning we went to the building beside us(also a part of the Guest house) and had a fantastic breakfast. There was juice coffee or tea and fruit. There were different types of bread for toast and croissant rolls. Then there was cold cereal or pancakes / eggs/ omelets. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are beautiful.
Very hospitable! Rooms are cozy and clean! Will stay again!
I stayed from March 17 to 21 2016. I reserved a suite personally with the owner. The website I was looking at noted free parking. Parking was a priority for me so I asked him to confirm the parking which he did by telling me there was plenty of parking. On the nights of the 18th and 19th I returned to the guest house to find no parking available. I called and he came out both nights and moved his vehicle to make room for me. The second night he had to move his car he seemed annoyed and informed me that parking was not guaranteed and was noted on the website. I told him that that was not what he told me on the phone and that if I had known of this situation I would not have stayed in his B&B. He replied that this was Vancouver and parking was a problem. I had the distinct impression that he felt he was doing me a favour by renting me a room. A room by the way that was not the cleanest and had a thermostat that did not function.
We stayed in a room with a private bathroom which we were able to upgrade from one with a shared bsthroom! We were fortunate. Hostess was gracious and accomodating. Will update if my rating changes but so far we love it. Close to shopping as well!
