Cool theater environment. It's nice to be able to have a beer with your movie. Though, they recently got rid of their frozen yogurt (which was my favourite part).

The renovations were an aesthetic improvement, however the introduction of 'no minors' was a ridiculous and inconsiderate decision. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing, especially alternate films at the fight avenue, but after renovations I found find that I was not allowed to enter regardless if I consumed alcohol. Establishments like this should implement ID checks at request of alcoholic beverages. This decision is a disgrace and a loss in potential customers. Such a shame.

I'm not sure what to say. Nice theater, nice location, beer and wine available, and a good selection of award winning films that don't circulate everywhere. I LOVE Fifth Ave!

You can get an adult beverage and better than usual cinema food but the seats aren't as good as many new theatres, plus some of the screens are quite small, leading to an experience that is lacking that high end theatre feel. Still good for some films but highly technical block busters could look better elsewhere. Also, no one under drinking age is allowed in, pro or con depending on your point of view.

Loved the bar. Good cocktails. Good service. The cinema and the sound is good. However the seating is not tiered enough so you see a lot of the person in front of you. Also the screen is at quite a height and you have to look up at it. Not the most comfortable viewing angle. This area is very quiet at night..

My favourite theatre in Vancouver - a great movie selection with grown-up amenities and quiet crowds. Unlike many other theatres, I've never had to try to ignore a talk-a-lotty at the Fifth, and that's the most important thing of all. And the popcorn is always fresh and hot. (Why not five stars, you ask? Value. But that's true of almost every theatre these days.)

I love kids but I also love the idea of a cinema only for adults (no, I don't mean the other kind). As in, not needing to sit through a screening with babies crying or kids yelling. That makes a movie experience all so much more enjoyable, doesn't it? Not to mention also the ability to have a glass of red wine at the same time!

The new renovations are really lovely. Having the ability to eat and drink at your seat is fantastic. Good selections of cocktails. Clean bathrooms. Seats are all visually good. One negative is that the seats have not that much leg room. The guy in front of me kept reclining until he hit my knees. I'm only 5'3 so someone taller will get his knees smashed much quicker.

Really nice, sophisticated decor inside, and everything was recently renovated so it is very clean. Chairs inside the theatre are comfortable but there isn't much of an incline so instead of looking straight ahead at the screen in the middle/back rows, you're looking slightly up at it. The chairs recline so it's not too bad, but I prefer the inclined floor setup instead.

Didn't eat or drink anything but the selection looked good, if expensive (as is expected of a movie theatre).

I enjoyed the fact that there were no children. When I went, very few of the seats were taken, and the theatre was very quiet.

There was a ticketing error where another person had been given the same seat we'd purchased, but the staff were very pleasant while resolving it.

Sometimes smaller theatres are better. This one has kept the tradition of playing some lesser marketed titles despite being bought out by cineplex. On the plus the interior has been renovated, although screens and seats appeared to remain the same. Decent slope to the seats.

It's nice to have a cinema with a pub. I love being able to start my beer in the pub and then finish it in the film. Great experience. Always an interesting variety of films showing and really cozy.

Great theatre, especially since the upgrade. The only thing I don't love about it now is that it's assigned seating. So, if you are unsure of how many people are going in your group, it makes ticketing a bit of a pain. You either book a bunch of tickets and perhaps be out of some money, or take your chances and buy at the door. It's also a 19+ theatre now so it's not kid-friendly. Not a problem for me, but perhaps for others. A great plus is that you can buy alcoholic bevvies and food and take them to your seat or consume them in the lounge. NICE!

As a child, I remember this theatre being good. As an adult, I appreciate that they hold viewings of less mainstream movies and the newer, comfy seats. But it's hard to ignore the blatant lack of sound quality (especially theatre #2) and the fact that at quiet moments you can hear the next door movie in your theatre. I didn't realize how important good sound is to the viewing experience until I returned here.
