High risk staying here if you cancel or leave early. Service is lowsy. We stay every year and get friends to come out and rent sites also.. but this year I was severely injured as we were setting up camp and we cancelled right away and they would not refund.. not even part of it. Basically took our $350 and ran with it. I think we might be taking our money and trips elsewhere in the future .
The access road to the campground is a 5 KM ride on stones and gravel in a very poor condition. The thick dust is everywhere and very bad on your tires too. Showers and toilets are dirty and stinky. Absolutely no supervision from management and as a result everyone is doing what ever they want, park wherever they want and the place looks like a dumpster. There is a lot potential because it is a very nice spot by the ocean but management need to step in and start working. In the meantime I wouldn't recommend going there unless you really don't have any other options.
Unfortunately the address in google maps is wrong @google - please help China Creek to move all rating and comments to the correct one!
Apart from that we had a fantastic stay at the campground. Lots of space available, we were lucky and got a comp side next to the water.
Incredible camping experience - one of the nicest dinner / breakfasts we hat in BC :)
Great campsites. Can get a bit windy some days.
Great campsite. Would love to see them make beach access better for people with disabilities or mobility issues.
Great camping we had a beach front spot and it was really incredible. Currently able to have fires on the beach at night so that was lovely as well and the pricing is great. One of the seasonal guys gave us grief for our fire, and everyone else on the beach but he was just a bit of an angry man I think. Check with the office when you call that fires are allowed as it sounds like it's currently on the fence.
Gravel road in is rough but anything would make it just take it slow. Took us about an hour and a half to make it to the Tofino Uculet area to spend all day on long beach and hen come back to our secluded little site. Liked it a lot!
tried to find rates on different sitesha ha no information ..oh well
Currently in btw contracts and was looking to head up to cape Scott/north end of the island. Sadly the next job was starting within a few days and I didn't have enough time to do what I wanted to.
Decided to head to China Creek campground as I use to regularly dive of the beech there for the migrant ship wrecks.
Great little campground, little packed with boats/trailers on the north end but the tent area was more then fine to fit my buddies tent trailer and was what I was looking for.
Highly recommend the camp ground. It's far enough away from Port Alberni, but close enough that f you need something it's a quick drive into town. Just watch out for the drivers flying down the logging roads at 100kph or faster. Usuallyy it's the logging workers as indicated by the logo on their trucks. M
A great place to get gas and you can fish for sockeye just up the inlet from here.
