Best company to start your carrier, Good miles, pay on time, benefits, on road driver backup n help . good low mileage trucks and dispatch , +safety are very nice n hlpful.5/5 company.

This is a mixed review.
Pros:
Good low mileage trucks
Maintenance is pretty good and reliable.
Good company
Benefits
Staff was friendly
Safety department was really good in helping and answering questions
Cons: other companies pay better.
No uniforms especially for bulk division
Takes quite awhile to get truck fixed properly. Depending on division your in.
No space to grow/move up in the company.
Dispatchers think that they are right and driver knows nothing.
If it got better and changed especially pay I would consider going back.
So here's a current update to my review. I recently applied back to challenger they gave me the job and a start date and 2 days before I was done at my other job. Well they called me and then told me that they will no longer give me a position so be aware of the hiring practices of this company.response / report this review -

Good place to start your career with. Great training program of about 6 weeks (but comes with 1 year contract). Provide you training throughout the year and keep you updated with the latest laws. Fleet is good - give you new trucks or less than 2 years old to drive. Company deals with mostly long haul and local work is usually given on seniority basis. Would recommend beginners to drive in-team for first few months. Safety department is great. Have 24 hrs in-house mechanic shop. This place is for professional drivers. Very respectful environment. Challenger is looked up as a professional company everywhere - border services, scales, truck stops, etc. Pay is just fine but you get quality. Overall good place!!
PS. One tip if I may give to all my fellow drivers, regardless of any good company you work with who has great fleet and in-house inspection station (including Challenger) - do your full PTI including brake checks of trailer.response / report this review -

As a 20+ year Driver for this company I can honestly say I have been very happy with Challenger. The main yard is fantastic . The staff has always been good. If your new to the industry this is the place to get trained as our training program is second to none. The equipment is great and well maintained.
