What a great little book store! Not that little, actually - it goes on forever, it seems. And it's full of the most wonderful selection. New books in the front, with (of course) a great selection of hiking literature and maps. Wonderful kids' books in the middle. And in the back you can enjoy a coffee while browsing their used book selection. A great place to spend a rainy afternoon among friendly, knowledgeable people.

Beautifully decorated book store continuously come here anytime I visit Canmore.
However on my last visit which was today I felt singled out by an employee at the store who was schooling me on copyright laws when all I did was take a picture of the book cover and mind you I could have done this online as well.
I really wanted to purchase the book after an Instagram user advised how it changed her life. But my pride got the best of me and I ended up buying it online on chapters.
I'll still give it 3 stars cause this place looks beautiful. The owner really worked hard in creating a homey atmosphere that unfortunately will take a while for me to visit again.response / report this review -

Took my little girl to Cafe Books for a tea party. The woman working there was a little brusque at first, but she seemed to warm up, especially as other people came in and started to annoy her (I think we looked better by comparison). Tea & food were good, the atmosphere is cozy & fun. Furniture, while appropriate, isn't terribly comfortable, but we enjoyed ourselves.

Very nice book store! Great atmosphere, lots of titles, eclectic layout and selection. Tea House is way way in the back but has good tea.

What a neat place! Books are displayed in an artistic manner. There are neat gift ideas. Local authors do book promotions here as well. In the back, there is also a used book area. My husband bought a current book title, in immaculate condition, for an excellent price. Believe it or not, they also have a tearoom. I am looking forward to trying this, at a later date.

This place is one of Canmore hidden gems. I stepped in there shortly after lunch, and before i know it, it was dark outside. very welcoming and cozy environment, with a section for used books and a cafe. Oh I wish i took photos! This will definitely be a staple every time i visit Canmore. If you are a book lover like me, do not miss this spot when you visit Canmore.

Among the most delightful independent bookstores I have visited in the past year. On the day we visited, one of their visual merchandising elements was an old typewriter. This is not that unusual in the end of it self, but the manner in which the display was together was very very impressive.
