Have good service most of the time. Had a bad experience looking at guns once. The guy behind the counter was talking to me like I was an airhead up until I showed him my PAL. Still after that he was not helpful at all. Didn't explain anything. Just passed over the gun and said nothing. On another note. I had great help in finding a good buck knife and fishing supplies. Good business but some questionable employees.

Recently purchased a gun as a gift here and I have never felt more belittled by 50 year old men in my life. 4 or 5 people in the gun department and no one seemed to have the time to help me at 3 pm on a Wednesday. They didn't know about there current black Friday sales and it was a very frustrating experience. The cashier who did almost all of the work was very kind and helped me despite there being people from the department without obvious tasks ignoring me.

Cabela's has stopped their LEO, First Responders and Veteran's discount. The reason they did that is that the local competition, Wholesale Sports, who also provided this discount, has gone out of business. So Cabela's, in their own words, does not have to price match.
Interesting note; Bass Pro Shop, which just bought Cabela's, does offer a discount to Veterans, Law Enforcement Officers, and First Responders.
Meanwhile, Cabela's has lost my business.response / report this review -

My kids and I were here, waiting for my husband to test out some bows. My kids were getting bored and a store clerk approached us and asked if the kids were interested in doing a taxidermy scavenger hunt. They did it (and were entertained for a long time!) And then won a prize when they were finished. Thanks for the great customer service!! Beautiful, clean bathrooms, too.

Good products but come on Cabela's get some helpful people working behind the gun counter! Some are helpful and want to give you a good experience however, some of the older gentlemen won't give you the time of day.

Can be expensive, but has excellent selection in general. Fantastic atmosphere and friendly, knowledgeable staff. I just noticed this week they have hunting pros come in to demo equipment to customers such as calls etc. Men's clothing that I've bought have been high quality and long lasting. They have a small built in archery range, discount cave, and fudgery in the building.

Very cool store. Got some fresh fudge and candies, also a nice cast iron pan for a discount. I'd come back again. Only thing is I wasn't too impressed with their backpacks selection. Wholesale Sports seems to have better hiking stuff. A minor complaint is that Cabela's does too much branding - their logo appears on nearly everything they sell. I wanted to buy a Canada 150 towel but was put off by the large Cabela's logo.

Great experience with great staff. Prices are average but they have their own lines of high quality clothing which I love. They have a great selection of gear for all outdoor sports and will order in anything quick. I wish they carried more 5.11 clothing but that is just being picky. Great place!

Awesome places to shop if you are an outdoors person. The prices aren't the cheapest but the quality of the Cable's products is really great. It's a very low pressure and relaxing environment to shop in. I mainly go in and browse but if you go into the bargain cave they have some really fantastic deals. I bought a pair of shoes for 80% off I went to pay and there was another 15% off of the sale price.

Selection is mediocre with a few brands dominating in each category but not all brands represented. Prices are a little high on certain items when compared locally. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable though.

My problem isn't with the items in the store. It's the staff. They have a few who are so nice, but the rest are teenagers who know nothing of anything. The girls who should have been working and helping customers, were gossiping and joking around with each other.
Later on we purchased one of the wood wick candles as a stocking stuffer for my father, and the teenager (cashier) was scanning my mom's items, as I was looking around and my mom was picking out a gift card for someone. We didn't even noticed the teenager throw the candle into the bag and hand it to us. When we went to wrap presents Christmas Eve, we found the candle, wrapped in nothing, with glass in the bag. The candle was shattered because the teenager was too incompetent and in such a hurry (in the almost empty store) to wrap the candle. Very disappointed.response / report this review -
