  Happy Friday, y’all! #fbf to five years ago when we took a little break on the Cabot Trail and I walked into the Atlantic Ocean in a black lace dress. Yes, it was as romantic as it sounds until I had to strip off a soaking wet dress in a parking lot. It was a cold, soggy, sandy ride in the car in my underwear 😂 Totally worth it 💖

  This was the last project I put live before bébé was born! I had a sudden rush of creative and energy in my last trimester and Patricia of Winnipeg’s elite matchmaking service Selective Professionals Service emailed me at just the right time ☺️ We created this clean, elegant and modern site to elevate her website to her high standard of service.

  Whatever your life’s work is, you do it best when work isn’t your whole life.

  You are allowed to rest—whether that rest is a day at the spa, spending quality times with your kids, date night with your partner, paintballing with friends 😉

  Our work is always better when we’ve had time to nurture other parts of ourselves and our lives, and we can come back to it recharged and refreshed.

  When a fashion goddess (and one of your best friends) comes to you for a website for their makeup and styling business, you get a little intimated. You wonder if you can create something that will a) capture their essence, b) last for longer than a season, and c) look as good as they do…

  Or if you’ll send them a design and then never be invited over for beers and makeovers ever again.

  Thankfully, I designed a website that Stephanie instantly fell in love with and I am happy to say I’m still allowed inside her house and to drink her beer! Love you, darling ;)

  It’s 4am, a time new parents are all too familiar with and I’m having a hard time falling back asleep. I had a different post scheduled for today, but yesterday I entered into full blown post partum depression and I’m not feeling it. I’m pretty sure the depression has been brought on by lactation suppression (as I’m no longer pumping my breastmilk because of Jude’s dairy/soy allergy).

  The research regarding depression caused by weaning barely exists, of course 🙄 but I’m “lucky” to be familiar enough with depression that I know the signs and I know what coping methods work for me (most of the time!)

  First step was to refill my prescription of antidepressants, second step: get some actual quality sleep (thank you Nyco Rudolph for everything you do ❤️), step three: remind myself that depression is a lie and that I’m capable of being happy, that life is filled with beautiful moments and that I will survive this to create more moments of sheer joy. Final step (crucial for those of us with seasonal depression as we prepare for the upcoming fall and winter): plan some really awesome summer activities and get in every bit of sunshine and warmth I can.

  I took this photo of beautiful Paint Lake last year on an amazing family holiday to see my baby brother (who fights forest fires during the summer). We toured our old stomping grounds in Thompson, then spent a couple days at Wekusko Lodge, boating on Tramping Lake, swimming, tubing, watching the northern lights it was perfect.

  It’s been hard to make the most of this summer with the babe being here, but I’m going to try to fit it a few more classic warm weather activities over the next few weeks and remind myself that summers filled with camping, lake time, swimming, tubing and running through sprinklers with Jude are just around the corner. 💖

We achieved that feel by using black + white photography, sophisticated and soft marble textures, clean fonts and a shimmering touch of gold.   5 years ago, Nyco Rudolph and I were in the first stretch of a 3 week holiday on the East Coast! I took over 1600 photos and my family patiently sat through all of them 😂

  There were so many highlights, but one was definitely visiting Peggy’s Cove on a foggy afternoon and then watching the sun come through in the early evening. Can’t wait to take the babe back with us one day—but for now we’ll just have to relive the Maritimes with photos!
