Enjoyed a delicious meal for a Christmas party! There was 45 of us, the food was delicious and the service was attentive!
I have the Leg of Lamb with potato and Greek salad! It was tender and flavorful. Definitely my go to when we eat here!
I had a really bad meal. There wasn't a smidgen of vegetables on my plate. Very small portions. The dinner was served in small lunch plates. Mostly cheap carbs, one scoop of meh! rice and one tiny potato cut in half were the sad side dishes to my very small portion of chicken tender smothered in bottled commercial BBQ sauce. Awful food. I hope I don't get sick on it. The service was just OK. We entered thru the restaurant side and there was NO ONE there. We had to walk all the way to the kitchen and call out for someone to help us. Our server wasn't rude but not friendly either.
To the owner of Bella Vita: please sell the restaurant to someone who knows the business. When your patrons pay for a meal, they want memorable food and experience, not tasteless rice and a small potato.
I wish Google would allow me to give you minus 5 stars it was that bad
Over priced, small portions, dirty cups, hair in my food, carrot peals with my carrots, the veggies had no effort put into them they looked like something that might have been have been done at the keg in the 70's , what the menu had written in it is not what was presented to us ( 2 meals mine and my wife's). The meat was cooked properly and seasoned nicely and the waiter was a very nice man, however one of the other wait staff was talking very loudly about her personal problems . This was not the best experience, I feel that I was separated from my money unjustly. I will not be back.
Everything was great! The service was awesome, and the Halibut I had was perfect.
It's got good food, nice staff, nice decor. My only complaint is it's a bit dated My 80yr old mom loves it. Her favorite restaurant.
I found that the food was quite good, it's really the atmosphere that makes it. Service was good, and pricing was what I expected. If you want the decent food with the upper end kind of atmosphere, this is a good choice. Another place I'm going to review in town with the same kind/quality of food is a bit cheaper, but a more casual atmosphere. It just depends what you want. I'd take a date or a business guest here, I'd take my kids or friends to the other place.
Was amazing and don't listen to the comment about 47 people's night out, I was there that Night and the 47 were being very rude to the staff and making hard.
Great food & service!
I have to say this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had!
I planned a surprise party 3 weeks in advance and explained that there would be 44 people there. I also confirmed the menu and they said that we could choose between the bistro menu, an open menu or a set menu. I mentioned that there would be vegetarians there so maybe the open menu would be the best way to go and they agreed to that and said it would be no problem. I also mentioned that my Dad needed to be able to go in and out of the restaurant easily as he is in a scooter and they reassured me that there would be a clear path to both the side entrance and the washroom in the room.
When we arrived the doorway was blocked by two large chairs so my Dad and I never got to see my Moms face as she walked in to the surprise., we were too busy moving chairs to get inside. Also there were chairs blocking the entrance to the washroom which had to be moved in order for my Dad to get to them. This really bothered me because I clarified how important it was that my Dad have a path and I was reassured over and over that it would be just fine.
This was only the beginning of what came to be a terrible night! We were all seated and the poor waitress (yes there was only 1 assigned for 44 people) had to try and shuffle from table to table taking drink orders, this took an insane amount of time and no one saw their first drink until they had been there for at least an hour. We then waited forever for bread and were not asked if we wanted another drink for about another 45 minutes.
After already being at the restaurant for 1.5 hours we finally had our orders taken and this was an absolute nightmare. They literally gave us 12 menus to pass around between all of us and when asked they told us they were limited. We had family and friends pulling up the menu on their phones to try and place an order.
When the food came it was not great, we understand that things are made fresh and there were a lot of us but saying that, I booked 3 weeks in advance and this should have been better organized. Some orders were forgotten and some were not appetizing at all. Some of the prime rib came out and literally looked like you should be checking it for a heartbeat to see if was still alive (extremely raw).
When I spoke to the manager/owner I was told that this is not something that usually happens and they have a great reputation, he also mentioned that they had a party of 100 that they served no problem. I don't see how this was supposed to make us feel better about our experience. He then told me he could put 50% off of each meal on gift cards which was a nice offer but it is kind of hard to get 44 people to go in and pick up these cards or have me distribute them.
The last and final offer he gave me was putting $150 on a gift card which again does not really help us out being that we cant take that many people out for this cost. It was a nice offer but just doesn't fly with me due to the experience.
Overall this was not a pleasant experience and I would not recommend planning an event here.
We went to Bella Vita for a surprise birthday party. The reservations had been made in advance. We had the back room and there were 44 of us. We were here at 6:00pm, didn't have a drink order taken until 7:05pm and our dinner order was taken at 7:45pm. They only provided 12 menus to go around the room and when asked for more "we are limited".
During our time there we had 1 waitress for such a large group and only were offered a drink once. The service was so slow people were walking across the street to Dairy Queen for snacks.
I strongly urge you to not support this establishment as there are other great restaurants in the area.
If I could select no stars I would.
Save your money and time and skip the Bella Vita. My family and I went to this restaurant for a 83rd birthday dinner. We were a group of 11 of which 5 had never been to the restaurant before. We had made a reservation for 5pm so that we could get in and out before the rush since we had seniors with us. Everything started out very well. We walked in and were seated promptly. Once everyone arrived our drinks and orders were taken. That is where the good service ended. It took forever for our drinks to be brought to us. While we waited for our drinks we watched as the restaurant started to fill up. It took approx 15 minutes before any drinks, including water, were brought to our table. It then took another 20-25 minutes from that point to get our appetizers. They were alright, but nothing to write home about. At this point almost everyone had no water in their glasses. We then got our ONE water refill for the entire time we were there. We sat for another 25 minutes while we waited for our dinners to come out. We watched as other people who came in well after us get their dinners while we waited. Finally the dinners were ready. They however came out two plates at a time. You can imagine how long it takes for a waitress to bring out dinner for a group of 11 when she can only carry one plate in each hand. Normally at most restaurants when you have a large group you make sure all plates are brought out at the same time so you have several people bring out plates to accomplish this. Unfortunately, that did not happen. When the plates finally all came out everyone dug in quickly because they were starved. Sadly, all but two were disappointed in their dinners. My prime rib personally was ice cold, and was like rubber. It was mostly gristle and fat and was incredibly hard to cut through. Everyone's food was cold or lukewarm. My brother in law (who ordered pasta) found a chicken bone in his meal Unfortunately since it all took so long for our dinner (2.5 hours) some of the guests from our table had to leave to catch a ferry back to the island. They didn't get to eat the dessert they had ordered and had to take it to go or they would miss their ferry. We had planned that dinner wouldn't take as long as it did, but unfortunately due to the poor service it didn't work out.
The really disappointing part was after all of this I went online to the restaurants website and wrote them a kind email letting them know what had happened so that it wouldn't happen to the next group. However I never heard back from anyone. All in all this restaurant is not worth it and you would be better off to spend a little more and go to a place like The Keg.
