Great location..breakfast included in price makes a differencegood amenities..most importantly awesome beds ! Under construction atm but rooms all done..!
Good restaurant. Comfy room. Terrible view, window looks out towards the lobby.
Location is great, just a few minutes walk to everything. Hotel is very clean and looks recently renovated. Included breakfast is nice.
It's a cozy and homey feeling hotel, close to DT Banff, and within walking distance of most of the in town attractions. Our room was nicely redone, although if you have noisey neighbors sound transfer might be an issue. The bar and restaurant can use an update, but everything is in clean, and good condition, just out of date.
Staff at the front desk are welcoming and accommodating. Underground parking is included. Complimentary breakfast is okay (enjoyed the customized omlettes). House keeping was well done. The view of the mountains from the room is great and location of the hotel is convenient (walking distance to many restaurants). However, there is no air conditioning and it gets very hot (We had to open the windows and it was loud outside.. "cons of being on a main street"). In the two night stay period, the hot water stopped working and in the middle of a shower, freezing cold water took over. In both situations, we had to deal with a 30 min wait before it came back which was frustrating.
The room is clean but there is no air conditioning (just heat only). They have provided an old school electric fan so I had it on all night. The pillows were on the soft side. The breakfast was subpar. The spa area was not very clean. It was very close to town so that is a big plus. Staff are courteous.
The Inn is close to the busier part of Banff, which means close access to shops and food, but is also a bit loud during the day if your room faces the road. Rooms are clean and well kept, but comes with usual necessities even though the room feels a bit small. Bathroom is nice. Staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast (provided) is mediocre but is enough if all you need is something in your stomach to get out the door (cereal, muffins, croissants, eggs, bacon).
We booked the room on Trivago in the afternoon to stay overnight that evening. When checking in we asked about receiving a discount if we had AMA and the front desk person said she would check. After checking us in she told us we can't use the AMA discount because we booked through Trivago. She knew we just booked it about an hour before arriving so we could have cancelled with their 24hr cancellation policy and she could have re-booked us on the spot? So that didn't leave us with a great impression. She also forgot to mention when checkout was. The room was decent but didn't feel worth the price. Beds were actually quite comfy. The bathroom is really tight and the sink is separate from the bathroom. The room doesn't have lots of lights so feels kind of dim in the evening. The hot tub/jacuzzi was nice and hot, and they have a steam sauna and hot sauna. They are fine but nothing fancy. There was some workout equipment where the hot tub and saunas are but it's a really small area. We didn't use the equipment so I can't comment on the machines. There was complimentary breakfast but we didn't take advantage so I can't comment on the breakfast.
Dropped in to the only place with vacancies, wasn't too sure on what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Very professional yet friendly staff. The only complaint I could mention, was the strict breakfast times. It's hard to get up, on demand, especially if on holiday. Just a little bit more flexibility would have nailed the 5th star
At first the hotel seemed excellent but my thoughts were soon transformed by the sound of drilling in walls at 7am, followed by endless construction and a full day withought power. After that things seemed to mellow out, but for some reason the way they built my room allowed It to be unsoundproof, one was able to hear every word said in the lobby with exquisite detail. The tv at times didn't work in any rooms. Breakfast was decent thanks to an omelet station. Wouldn't stay again.
Thr Ptarmigan inn is an excellent establishment. I love the rooms and the breakfast. The hot tubs are nice however they could use a makeover.
Room had weird smell. Complementary breakfast was not overly good. Great location, clean and good staff.
We went out for the night from Calgary and wanted to relax. Instead, we waited for almost 20 minutes at check in (for them to finish cleaning the room) and we were already running late. It was the middle of a blizzard and we were sent to park in a neighboring parking lot because they said they were full. The hotel was noisy until about 3 in the morning. The remote control did not work, and there were two TVs (since we paid for a suite) but neither one had working cable. The front desk apologised and gave me 20 bucks off of my 230$ bill. Fitness facility is actually inside the pool and it is filthy and humid, they did offer for us to go the facility in the hotel next door once again. I'm not sure if we'll ever be staying here again. It's a shame, since other experiences there have been great. This place has gone downhill in a big way.
