Seriously the best decision I made on my trip to Banff was stopping at the visitor centre first. Kate helped me figure out what was open or closed this time of year and that really formed my trip. She gave me lots of things to do indoors since some of the outdoor activities had been closed for the season due to weather. And it was Halloween so she gave me some ideas of how to celebrate that while being an out of Towner. Definitely go here if you found all of your ideas from Pinterest and you're coming during off season. Or really just at all.
Don't understand why there's one person working the back country planning area. Make it more clear to guests that this is a back country trip planning area and ot for directions around the local tourist spots and where to eat! Spent half an hour watching tourists bring a town map to this line and it is truly frustrating as a resident trying to plan a 3 day trip in the BACKCOUNTRY
I called to obtain a backcountry permit for an ACC hut reservation that was done previously. They charged me $11.70 booking fee for the 5 minutes it took to issue a $9.80 permit. I work as an engineer and even my charge out rate is less than that. What's more, the country's most famous and busy park doesn't even have an online reservation system I had to call ten times and leave a voice-mail to get a response. This is consistent EVERY time I try to obtain a backcountry reservation. Get with the times Parks Canada!
Oh my goodness did it rain when we were here. We were in the closest parking spot to the door and I looked like I showered fully clothed when I got inside. The People were amazing and helpful though. We talked to the tour company and we talked to the park staff and we bought something from the gift shop. Everyone was kind, everyone was helpful and we got what we needed and hit the road.
Very informative, staff was very helpful, clean restrooms. Be careful about parking in lot, cannot stay there all day. Banff is a beautiful town
We stopped into the Banff Visitor's
Centre with no real needs since we had a 6 day itinerary set up. Surprisingly, the Customer Service Worker, Brad fine tune these plans with further parking information, restaurant suggestions and trip planning. He provided friendly and knowledgeable service. Thank you, Brad!!!
Knowlegable staff with information on activities. Make sure to provide approperiate info.
I liked that I could get services in french a lot, great job guys !!
Employee bilingual They are really knowledgable about trail condition and any update.
One person in line in front of us I was asking a million questions and all I wanted was a park pass LOL. It took over 45 minutes to get to the front of line for a two-minute pass. You only have one working register but that two workers that could have been easily moving the line through faster but couldn't bother. Avoid this place at all costs!
Worst experience of my life. The old man who helped us treated us like total idiots and was extremly rude. I am so choked about this. National parks are the biggest scam ever, and are designed to ensure fines are levied against any visitor who doesn't read every bylaw. Avoid like the plague and just go to Jasper.
