Honestly, they have a good selection of beer, and the food menu looks great. I wouldn't know what any of the food tastes like as our server walked past our table at least 20 times without making eye contact. Probably having a bad day/night, but she attended several other tables, many times before. Kind of left a sour taste in my mouth. Probably usually good here. Was really fast to bring the bill.

I've gone to Banff Ave each time I visit Banff and today was going to be no exception. Sadly the service was so poor that after letting our server know we'd been sitting for 20 minutes before she came over we had to leave. She was unapologetic, looked angry and we feared she might spit in our drinks.
The restaurant was very busy but waiting 20 minutes before anyone came over was not okay.
Sorry Banff Ave. We're now at the equally busy Elk & Oarsman and have had impeccable service.response / report this review -

Great place to escape while you wait out the shoppers. One of the best flavored poutines around. Don't sit by the balcony door as most of the clientele do not know how to shut doors.

Really awesome brewery up in Banff. We made the trek from Lake Louise and weren't dissapointed. I like the variety of beers, service was exceptional, and they had a good selection of shirts/brewery swag. Would highly recommend visiting. Just wish they had more beers to pick from.

Awesome beer, great place.
We loved sitting on the balcony and watching the world go by. There is an overwhelming selection of draft beer, which all tasted wonderful. The merchandise available too made me happy as I could take a piece of Banff brewing co home to make my buddies jealous. When in Banff, pop on in and have a pint or two.response / report this review -

Very limited menu options at a very high price. The fried chicken sandwich was okay. The chicken was very moist yet there was barley any sauce and nothing very special about it for $15. The fries are very cheap, as they are something you would find at a cheap fast food restaurant. Would not recommend this place.

Don't get food here! Ordered the salmon and it was dry as cardboard. My waitress was awesome and brought it back. She brought a burger instead with a VERY small portion of fries (smallest I've ever seen at a restaurant). Even my son was still hungry after eating here (kids menu is SUPER expensive at $9). Manager could care less. The beer was good. But spend your money elsewhere with good food and who actually care about their patrons.

Their menu is nothing spectacular. I have been to wood buffalo brewing, jasper brewing which are the same company and their menus are much better. The service is 5 star and the beer is good but to compete in the Banff atmosphere they need at least a few wow items on the menu. It's just typical pub fare

Waited at the door for 10 minutes before even being acknowledged by the manager. We were seated on the corner of the bar, and when the place began to clear out we asked the manager if we could transfer to a booth. When we asked, we were rudely told "No I'm getting a dinner rush." As we ate supper uncomfortably at the bar we couldn't help notice that the "dinner rush" had opened at least 4 tables however we could still not be transferred to a table. As we sat finishing our drinks we couldn't help but notice groups of 2 being sat in booths. This manager needs to find a new living if he hates his life so much and stop making customers miserable!

Service was prompt, the food was okay. Ordered the seared tuna tostadas. I'm pretty sure the latest it was seared was that morning. I'm used to seared tuna being freshly done and still having some warmth to the outer layer when it's brought to the table. No quality check was done, I would have mentioned it otherwise. The beer wasn't pretty decent, comparable with most other brewpubs. Overall 3/5, definitely some holes in the way they appear to do business, but not an overall unpleasant experience.

Good is ok, never really had had good here but the prices are stupid. Huge extra cost to change fries to curly fries etc. Had a voucher for 25% off meal, but when I presented it I got robbed off with an excuse it was valid for one person only despot the voucher having no such term stated on it - cheating scumbags. Drinks are crazy expensive too.

A top par pub with great staff. After we had made our order, we were informed by the owner that the kitchen was out of what I had ordered. We were told that our meal and drinks were on them for the night for the mistake. I did not expect such action, and we were very pleased with the way the situation was handled. Our new order came out quickly and the food and beer were top notch! Thanks you guys! We will be back again in the future!
