There is something exciting about taking a blank and turning it into something of my own; To put my own thoughts, ideas, and inspirations on a canvas. Since early childhood I’ve enjoyed the freedom to create; to let my mind and my fingers wander. For me, art is a journey with an unpredictable destination, a place to let go and let be, and a place to feel at peace.
I like to present the sights we often take for granted in a new light. My surroundings inspire me and I try to present the uniqueness and beauty of these sceneries in my art. I enjoy layering of different textures, patterns and flows. Different mediums allow me to express different ideas. I start with acrylics and I feel free to add water, pencil, ink, pastels, fabric and paper. I am innovative and open-minded. I mix and match and compose until I feel the artwork is in balance.
My latest works are a combination of mixed media and photography transfers inspired by Alberta sceneries.

We found the most amazing mixed media piece by Jozé Olvera at the Strathearn Art Walk. It is the piece our home has been missing! Her work is a perfect combination of unique artistic talent that celebrates the natural beauty of both city skylines and wild landscapes! Thank you, Jozé!
