They worked on my neighbours house.
They took the time to fix and adjust our middlewall that we share . They did the work and kept their word of putting everything as was and better. Special thanks too Dominique from the crew for taking the time do it

We selected Alex Maçonnerie over others because of their capacity to answer technical questions. They looked extremely professional and they definitely are. They did an amazing job removing all, clean and rebuild. Are they more expensive than others, may be but wall are so important for your house (see our picture on their website).

This is the third time we have had Alex Maçonnerie carry out work on hour 100+-year-old house, some of it really quite tricky involving the removal and replacement of stone blocks. Each time, their team was professional, efficient and rapid. They always provided clear explanations for any required change. Equally important, they were very respectful of the neighbours.

Can't reach them by phone (voice recorder). Never call back. Got a couple of emails in french, though :
"Nous vous remercions d’avoir pensé à l’équipe d’Alex Maçonnerie pour les travaux, mais nous n’effectuons pas ce travail."
"Thanks for considering Alex Maconnerie for the work but we do NOT do that kind of work"..What kind of work ?.
1) applying new mortar between bricks on my existing front and side walls.
2) replacing vinyl with new brick on the back wall.
Seems to me that my work needs to be done by a brick-laying company. What gives with them saying that they refuse the job by saying "we don't do that kind of work". Very strange..
I get it that they're maybe very busy and they probably cherry-pick the biggest (ie $$$$$) jobs..but still.
EDIT 15 April 2021 : Ahh ! OK, so now I see after reading their response to this review : I have to wait until the 15 May (when I become the official owner of the house) before Alex Maconnerie will even touch the house. Funny because other contractors were perfectly willing to do work on the house before house ownership. Also they don't remove vinyl ? I could do it myself, strange. See, why didn't they give that quick simple response instead of vaguely stating : "we don't do that kind of work". Left me with a really bad, bitter aftertaste.
EDIT 28 Oct 2021 : Impossible to get a bricklaying company to do a $ 1000 dollar job here in Montreal soI did it myself with the help of Youtube and a few tools. Job turned out pretty good and it costed my about the same price including tools. Thanks for nothing, Alex Maconnerie.response / report this review -

Highly recommended !
Alex Maçonnerie was recommended to me by TWO friends and I was not disappointed.
Alex was extremely professional and courteous and took the time to explain to us the details of the work needed. His crew was exceptionally careful when accessing and protecting our neighbours new roof and were generally very tidy, unobtrusive, and a pleasure to interact with.
I would not hesitate to work with them again.
