  Total peace! Great place to stay and service from staff feels like home. Will and Lolette will make sure you will enjoy your stay and be there for anything you need during your visit.
  Pool is covered and water is cold but refreshing on warm days :)

  We had a very quiet relaxing 2 days at the River House Lodge. Lolette and William were caring and attentive hosts. The accommodation was rustic, but clean, comfortable and spacious, and Lolette's meals are delicious.
  The lodge is on the river outside Hopkins, we did not have a car ( Lolette organised a driver to pick us up in Dangriga, and he stopped off at a store so we could pick up supplies).
  We had unlimited use of their kayaks which we made full use of on the Sittee river, and saw iguanas, turtles various herons, and birds, mostly on our later in the afternoon paddle. There are also harmless crocodiles to be seen there. And it is also possible to see toucans in the trees on the property.
  William also organised a couple of bikes for us to us.
  I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet opportunity to connect with nature.

  Gorgeous property with great access to many different outdoor activities, local restaurants, and culture. Stayed for several nights in two different rooms here in Feb. 2017. Caretakers, William and Lolette were very nice and accommodating! Rooms were very clean and well cared for. I'd recommend getting a room upstairs with a kitchenette. They have A/C in the rooms for all your city folks. I used it after trying to sleep with the windows open only to find that the local birds woke up much earlier than I desired That being said, local birding is amazing! You'll see an amazing variety of species on the property. Go on a tour into the jungle or to Crooked Tree to see even more.
  
  While I was there I got to visit the coastal barrier reef and cayes to go birding and snorkeling. I'd highly recommend booking a trip with Belize by Horace for some offshore fishing, snorkeling or sunset sailing. I also got to check out a local waterfall, which was simply stunning! A great way to cool off on a hot day. Local restaurants are great, but Lolette's cooking was off the charts! We had breakfast at the River House Lodge everyday and it was always amazing! William always had us covered with cold beer.
  
  Anyway, if you visit Belize, you should definitely plan to stay in Sittee River for at least a couple nights. You won't be disappointed! There is so much more to do here and I hope to come back with my family to show them all of the things that I missed. Belize is really a gem of a country with very pleasant people and an amazing landscape.
