OK, so we have yet to stay at Mahogany Hall. However, I had reserved two rooms for three nights each and was forced to reschedule due to an illness in the family just 4 days before were were scheduled to arrive. Marsha was gracious enough to allow us to reschedule our trip for later in the year despite the fact that she had no obligation to do so and little chance of re-renting our rooms on such short notice.

Wonderful staff, beautiful resort. They went above and beyond for presentation and customer service. Would highly recommend. It was like a little piece of heaven tucked away.

Have not stopped at the resort but we have stopped by for beer and soft drinks once. Absolutely outrageous prices they obviously not interested in attracting locals to the bar and the main focus must be con as much many out of the tourists as possible. Being a 'gringo' who lives in Belize I am used to seeing tourists being ripped off but this takes the prize for the biggest ripoff, prices 4 times plus, to what you pay for drinks in a regular restaurant or bar, skip this place go into San Ignacio pay much less in other touristy restaurants and bars !

We paid for 2 “Executive Suites,” but when we got there they only had one available. They put us in a room that was over $200/night cheaper and told us that it would all be made right in the end. The shower dribbled out and the electricity didn’t work next to the sink. They charged us $250 for ONE meal for a family of 5. When I went to settle the bill I was told that I still needed to pay an additional $200 MORE than I had already paid. I couldn’t believe it! Honestly, I would have been fine if there would have been any attempt to please us, but there was none. No discount on the room, no free drink, no nothing! Bottom line is that it is WAY overpriced for a second rate place. I would never go back nor recommend it to anyone. It’s generally dirty everywhere including the pool and not worth it at all.

The staff was great and the rooms were very nice. There is a fair amount of deferred maintenance and the lot is very small. I am familiar with the area and the standard of lodging, so I would not normally point out things like deferred maintenance. However, they charge a 5 star price and they should deliver 5 star facilities.
