Good to go to if you are in the area. Expect to spend maybe an hour and a half or two hours here. If you can find a local guy they can tell you the story of The Foreigner who married the local girl.

First rate compact site on a hilltop that was a prominent regional center before being eclipsed by Xuanantunich, Naranjo, and Caracol. Lots to see at Cahal Pech including a number of narrow passageways in the elite residential area. We hired a site guide named Rene, who has worked approximately 25 years for professional archaeologists in Belize, and enjoyed his knowledgeable tour. Cahal Pech is readily accessible by foot or taxi from San Ignacio. The site itself is suitable for traversing by foot.

I was estonished by this maya temple because it is not so small with many complet path (room and hall connected you can go inside, not broken by the time) this is temple was very good preserved bu the time. The admission fee is 10$BZ with a small museum at the entrance. You will see some excavation work in progress.

Rundown and low energy. Other than the ruins that one can see and climb up to, not much useful tourist information or signs.

This is easy to get to from SI town. Just walk up the hill and you should be there in 20 minutes. It is a good work out after all that delicious food. Go early or late in the evening as it can get crazy hot

While not a large site, compared to many, Cahal Pech is great for a short day trip because it has "one of everything" that you'd expect to see at a Mayan ruin. Site is small enough to walk around. No tour guide needed, as many ruins require. When I was there, you were allowed to climb all of the buildings. Awesome views.

Tour - Really and interesting site. Yes it may not be as big as some of the others, but that means you have a smaller ground and more time to enjoy. Be prepared, it can get warm, and there is no facilities except for at the end and beginning of the tour a walk away form the site. Had a local kid from school give a lot of the tour, which was nice.

One of the best site to visit while visiting the western part of Belize. You are staying in the Twin Towns of San Ignacio & Santa Elena? No need to worry in getting up early if you had a long night the day before, you can get a cab from your hotel or simply walk up to the site, if you are an athletic person.
