Walking distance away from the National Museum or from the town center (It has 2 entrances). No need to take a cab. One of the most beautiful dzongs in the country.

A beautiful Dzong; great views from the riverside, just downstream of the bridge; well lit with floodlights after 6-30pm; the venue of the (first day) of the Paro tsechu, which i was fortunate to attend; second day onwards, the tsechu is conducted in an area just 100m from the Dzong; visit the dzong, walk around it for views of the Paro valley and marvel at the imposing white walls of the dzong

Paro Rinpung Dzong or the fortress of the heap of precious jewel is located only a 4 minutes drive from Paro International Airport.

Over looking the fortress is the Ta- Dzong or the national museum of Bhutan showcasing the art of living of Bhutanese people in the land of happiness. Also you see in the museum is the numerous exemplary show of endangered flora and fauna of Bhutan and the rich biodiversity of animals is Bhutan.
