Ostensibly the nicest hotel in Phobjikha, the Dewachen can boast magnificent views from its restaurant and rooms. That said, the bathrooms need updating (the water is plenty hot) and the in-room traditional wood stoves function very poorly - in winter, this means the rooms are COLD. As in 'see-your-breath-when-you-exhale and sleep-in your-coat-cold.' For those who require internet access, you won't find it here, save perhaps in the main building. In october, when the cranes first land, and the cold isn't as biting, the location and vistas can win over the most cynical traveler.
