A must go place for tourists! Highly recommend you to wear warm clothes as it’s pretty chilly! Just took my teacher last time and she loved it! Also, she said it was very very cold haha
Very decent place - 360 degree panoramic view of Himalaya.
Amazing and surprising entry once you reach via car. Well maintained or preserved. For foreign tourist this is restricted place to visit but you can take permission at Immigiration centre at Thimphu and then visit it. Not very far from Capital city Thimphu. From this place you can view whole Jigme Singe Wangchuk range of Bhutan Himalaya. Via this place you can go for Phunakha Dzong.
A view point located above 3100 meter on the road from Thimphu to Punakha. Most number of tourists of Bhutan visit this place to enjoy the stunning view of the Himalayan range. On a sunny day with clear sky the view of the mountains is breath taking. This place also has few landmark structures which include 108 stupas and a monastery.

The Dochula Pass is a mountain pass in the snow covered Himalayas within Bhutan on the road from Thimpu to Punakha where 108 memorial chortens or stupas known as "Druk Wangyal Chortens" have been built by Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk, the eldest Queen Mother.
Nice place, you can touch the clouds, don't miss it.
Oct 2017. A stopover rest area between Thimpu and Punakha. A place to see the mountain range during good weather. The rest area serves free coffee/tea and biscuits, others are additional charges. The chorten was built by one of the queen of the 4th King to honour those who had been killed during the war with the insurgents in the south of Bhutan.
Its location is nice with memorial for warriors! Beautiful view around with a decent cafe nearby.
A pass beautifully decorated with stupa and Monastery in the way to Punahou or Wangdue Phodrang. Nice outing place for you and your family. You can view great snow-capped range of Himalayan mountain ranges
Located at 3150 meters above sea level is a scenic beauty. On a clear day you can see the whole Himalayan mountain ranges. Newly constructed park with meditation hall gives people and travelers to sit down and mediate .
Awesome place
Almost a transit point for every tourist visiting Punakha from Thimphu ,just on the highway.108 newly built Choten,as a memorial by the royal govt.
There were clouds and tourists all around when we were there in the morning. So missed the views but still it was a great experience .
Beautiful view. You literally in the clouds as you walk up the easy steps and around the memorial. Recommended highly.
nice views from the top level of the Chortens; spend a few minutes absorbing the scenery; arrive here as early as possible; best views of the Bhutan Himalayas early in the morning; excellent cafe nearby serving a variety of food, great coffee, etc. advise you to trek to Lungchuze gompa from here
What a lovely place, can't explain in words. One must see spot in Bhutan.
That's it.
On the way to Punakha from Thimphu in the Thimphu-Punakha Highway is this picturesque place of Dochula. It is 35 km away from the capital town. From this point you can view Mt. Gangkar Puensum, Tiger Mountain, Masamgang etc ranges. There are 108 stupas (Druk Wangyal Chortens) in the centre of the highway. On the other side, you will find the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang (temple). You have to climb few steps to get the 360 degree panoramic view. There is a telescope near the monastery. You can use it to view the far away mountain villages. There is a hiking track also on the other side of the Lhakhang.
The view of the Himalayan ranges is panoramic. You will see Mt. Gangkar Puensum, Tiger Mountain, Masamgang etc from there. The 108 stupa itself is rested on Dochula pass, between Thimphu - Punakha Highway and it's so picturesque and worth taking some wonderful shots.
In winter here the weather is very nice . Some time the snow fall in hare. Totally Dochu-La Pass area is very nice
