My husband and I went to Tippys yesterday night, we loved it. It was just a surprise how much gratuity was and no indication of the percentage prior to paying. Otherwise great food awesome atmosphere!
Great view overlooking a beautiful beach. Food was okay. I definitely don't think it's worth walking three miles to get there from Governors Harbour. We asked our server to call a taxi for us to get back and she said she didn't know of any. Later found out that they routinely do this for customers.
Delicious food and wonderful views. Tippy's has really good food, but it's very expensive. The menu has typical island items, but also plenty of regular food you'd see at an American restaurant. Cool decor too. Service was decent, but lacked the warmness you'd find at the local "mom and pop" restaurants.
Just terribleservice was terrible. my pain killer was not a painkiller and when I complained the waitress just laughed. Anyone eating at this place must be AWARE that they add 25% tip to bill but don't identify it so you could be easily fooled. When I pointed out that there math was wrong they admitted the tip was included. I was fooled earlier in the day at lunch not paying attention I paid a 25% tip and tipped 20%. Not a reputable place.
The environment is always fun and lively at Tippy's. But, the best thing about Tippy's is the food.fantastic!
Great beachfront restaurant. Serves higher end lunch, dinners and drinks. Local live bands on Saturday nights.
We are so glad we found Tippy's! Came highly recommended by friends who visit bi-annually. Unassuming and simple setup at a gorgeous beach side setting. Not too many tables, but plenty in comparison to Eleuthera restaurants. Tends to fill up around 7pm.
Service was prompt and helpful. They have a full bar, offering a number of drinks along with beer and wine. On the chalkboard menu (a nice touch) were 3 or 4 apps, 3 or 4 salads, and 3 or 4 entrees. There were also a number of pizzas to choose from.
We opted for the Cajun grouper w/ mango chutney and the coconut curry lamb shank (special). The grouper was excellent. The lamb shank was more comfort food than expected for my wife. I enjoyed what she left on the plate though. Yum.
Best food on the island.
Elliot is a great host
Cool place with great food! Good for families. Needs kids menu though
Pretty good food. It had good flavor and service was good as well.
Nice food, service is good, fantastic location right by the ocean so you can take a walk while you wait for your order!
Amazing food. Amazing view. Beach access. One of our favourite spots in Eleuthera.
Food was very well prepared and the service was awesome. Laid back environment but 5 star presentation and taste
Great view , that's about it.Service was mediocre, and the food was completely overpriced, our family of four ate for a whopping $300 USD including 2 appetizers and 4 drinks.would not go back unless the food prices dropped significantly. We were here in the off season, can't imaging the gouging going on during busy season..
Beautiful location, good food, live music on Saturdays - worth a visit on every trip to Eleuthera!
I've been coming by on and off for years. Used to be a solid spot, but they've gone downhill with their rising popularity. Very pricey for what it is. Make a reservation if you're swinging by for dinner or they'll most likely turn you down at the door if you don't have one.
Great place to dine with family and friends nice scenery close by the beach.😃
Average food, service is a bit slow and it expensive. Lovely deck and beach make it a popular spot to eat and drink
We've been going to Tippy's for a couple years now, excellent food, we have had the conch chowder, grouper, lobster pasta, pizza, cracked conch and fries, bouillabaisse, mixed green salad, coconut fried shrimp, all desserts and IPA beer and all great. ..Keep in mind you are on an island and many things have to be imported so yes you pay a bit more but it is all worth it. The prices are what I would expect for a similar restaurant in the USA. The live band is an added plus with good reggae songs.
The food (pizza and fish & chips) was described as "mediocre" by two members of our party. The only alcoholic beverage we (I) got was weak. Our bill, for 3, was $119 including tip.
I will say the atmosphere was very nice, the wait staff was polite and accommodating.
Long story short, if you're staying across the street and don't mind the expense, you might find it nice enough. If you want a really good (expensive) meal on the water with a polite accommodating staff, go to 1648.
