Lovely beachfront vacation home! We had a large family group and made the most of our time in beautiful Eleuthera. Thank you Miranda!

Of the twelve islands I’ve had the privilege to vacation, Eleuthera is my favorite. Ocean Daze on Windemere Island is connected by causeway to the mainland, making it an even more special gettaway. I can’t wait to get backthe most amazing beach and sunsets and the crystal clear water are so relaxing. While there are cute local restaurants, Ocean Daze has a great kitchen setup, and the owners, Miranda and John, are amazing hosts and will even arrange for a local to make you island style meals if you don’t like to cook. My teenage daughters enjoy laying on the beach, kayaking and snorkeling. I enjoyed freediving the reefs out front looking for grouper, snapper and elkhorn coral. I also love to flyfishing, and the flats behind the house offer great shots at bonefish. (For those that like to fish you can go offshore for big fish, reef fishing for table fare or walk the flats looking for bonefish). The home itself is meticulously clean and beautiful. Miranda is delightful, she is attentive to any of your requests. If I could give 6 Stars I would. Can’t wait to visit soon Thanks for being so great Miranda!

Lovely home and stunning views! The house is designed and decorated very beautifully. Miranda was very attentive and eager to help. She often checked in with us to provide activity or restaurant suggestions. Ocean Daze is in a great locationit's almost right in the middle of Eleuthera, so it made exploring the island much easier. Not too far of a drive if you want to head South to Lighthouse Beach or go all the way North to visit Spanish Wells!

Totally agree with the comments of other guests to be SUPER careful renting this house!!! It is definitely not what it looks like.
1. OWNERS WILL NOT LEAVE YOU ALONE, Miranda the owner is such a control freak. We constantly felt like they were spying on us. They would pop in the house every day unannounced and never let us have the privacy we would expected. She even wanted to give me her opinion as how should we make sleeping arrangements within our family and told me that my children were not aloud in the kitchen when is part of the social area. Before we left I packed all the food we had left over because I wanted to share it with the locals that I know talking to them about their economic situation they would appreciated more and also need it. Instead of leaving her with our food (that I’m sure they would charge the next guest for it). Suddenly she came in and took the bags out my hands and place them in the fridge again and said you can leave all this here. And I told her, no thank you. This is my food and I want to give it to this driver and his family that has been helping us. She looked at me with such a dislike face and said that she also shares it with the locals (thing that I do not believed for a second).
2. LUXORY HOLIDAY NO WAY! Yes, Bahamas is absolutely beautiful. But if you imagine this been a luxurious rent holiday home this house is certainly not for you. Yes the owner brags about her super millionaires neighbours like Mariah K and Lenny K. But they come in their private jets, full of food and wine from the USA and all the staff. This house doesn’t even have decent beach furniture. All is broken and super dirty. The decoration in the house is so kitch that you start to go crazy with so many little figurines and sea shells. I specifically mentioned to her that we really liked wine and champagne and she lied to me telling me that I could enjoy a bottle of champagne in her house. There is NO place to buy!!! We travel up and down the island to find decent wine and champagne and was imposible!!! We had to buy the cheapest and most horrible wine and payed triple the cost. Last day we did manage to find a bottle of champagne at the supermarket and that was it.
3. NOT FOR FODDIES The supermarkets are horrendous and you will be eating frozen food everyday and spend a fortune for it. If you are lucky you can get some FROZEN lobsters (we had to pay a guy lots of money for them and seemed like a story of gangsters exchanging goods) we never were able to buy fresh fish, all supposedly because of the weather. And the local restaurants are really average. We only had one we liked and was not even that good.
4. We were going to use two bedrooms originally but last minute my father joined us and we needed to use the whole house. We thought as normally when you rent a house they don’t charge you for each room individually (and yes Miranda we have rented houses all over the world) We wanted to use the third bedroom and she charged us extra for it to pay her cash at that moment or would not be able to enter. If you advertise the house having three bedrooms I would assume when you rent it you rent the whole house.
5. Internet never worked
6. I’m really sorry to say this but also the locals seem really aggressive and they do not take care of their tourist. For example our flight back got delayed and we had to wait 3-4 hours in a super small airport. We have twins age 3 and they were really tired to be inside standing in a line so I popped out for 5min and came back and the lady from the airline started to tell me to go back the line. I mentioned her that anyway children and older people are supposed to board first and I there was a older lady that should even go before us and she said NO and screamed at me that they DO NOT DO THAT THERE and the poor lady had to wait as well. Super fun way way to finish this nightmare holiday.response / report this review -

Pour compléter notre message précédent nous avons discuter avec des gens de l’hotel Où nous sommes restés après notre passage à ocean daze et l’hotel Avait déjà eu des clients qui ont rencontré le même problème que nous. On nous a indiqué que les propriétaires étaient tout le temps présents et qu’ils épiaient les locataires depuis leur studio. Ils ont également indiqué à l’hotel Que la propriétaire leur avait demandé de remplacer plusieurs assiettes qu’ils auraient cassées en les obligeant à les payer alors qu’ils n’avaieny Jamais manger dans la villa le propriétaire a également était très violent avec des paroles déplacées. Alors je renouvelle mon message précédent faites attention à cette location ( dommage car le site est magique ) mais les propriétaires sont complètement dangereux passez votre chemin et aller plutôt à l’hotel The Cove qui représente vraiment la gentillesse des Bahamas

Ocean Daze was amazing. We wanted a quiet place to explore the island and the culture. It was our last big trip before our oldest daughter went off to college. This was the perfect place. Miranda and John had great suggestions for dining and exploring including private in-home dining with a local chef who was friendly and fantastic. The breeze is constant and warm. We left the doors open all day! And by doors, I mean glass doors that wrap around the entire home. We woke in the master bedroom to the most stunning ocean views and watched the sunset from the wrap around porch. My personal favorite was the hammock. I read 3 whole books while I was there in the hammock watching my family play in the beautiful turquoise water. We laughed and relaxed and just loved every minute of the time in this paradise home away from home. ❤️❤️❤️

We had an absolutely brilliant stay, for the second time!
The location and grounds are amazing
the place itself is very comfortable and romantic.
Opening your eyes in front of one of the most breathtaking view of the ocean will definitely lead you to a perfect day!
Miranda and John were the nicest hosts and always anticipated our wishes.
We will always remember the wonderful night during the Junkanoo spent with John !!

Be careful. The owner are completely crazy ..we arrived there one week ago . The area is very nice , beautiful beach gated area, not far from restaurant ( 20 Minutes ) and other beautiful beaches..but the problem is elsewhere .. before we arrive I have asked for a late checkout is the house was available on our last day. Miranda , the owner told me no problem if she does not have reservations this day.. when we arrive she told me that I have to pay 960$ for the late check out ! I paid we were very tires of a long trip from Hawaii even if the house was not booked she showed us the house and the 3rd bedroom is at the first floor and the rest of the house at the second floor. This third room was very very smelly and very noisy because of the air conditioner and tub water close to this room ..my teenagers could not sleep there . The bedroom has no windows do if you like to be in prison II is good plus smely bad welcome in paradise !! My teenager had to go in the living room for the rest of their stay ! Everyday when we left the house to visit Miranda came into the house. I knew it because one day we came back sooner and we saw her with her crazy husband ..they live close to the main house in a studio so you have no privacy..they are always looking at what you are doing ..even when you take a shower because they can see you from outside ( especially the husband ) so be careful.the fourth day we went fishing and they were supposed to come for housekeeping. So they came .the day after the housekeeping they come to the house in the morning and told us that we broke a glass table ! It was not us maybe the housekeeper or not but it was not us I told her but she told me that I was a lyer.as I was in vacation I didn't want to waste my time speaking about the broken glass so I told them that I will pay even if we didn't broke it but I ask her what she proposed to do about the third smelly room where my teenager couldn't sleep when I asked this her husband yelled very hard he was completely crazy and told us that he wanted to call the police if we didn't pay the broken glass. He was very impolite and my teenager and wife were very afraid ! Then I decide to leave this crazy people before the end of our stay and we went to The Cove hotel for our 2 last nights and it was perfect there so ne careful of OceanDaze in Windenmere because you can loose your money and your won't pass good vacation so go away from there !
