Noise air conditioning, safe not locking and only very hot water in the shower. Not very good acoustic insulation. Can hear airplanes from nearby airport. Good breakfast and nice staff.

A nice city hotel, very conveniently located near the downtown, the airport Santos Dumont, and the Catete Metro Station (5 mins. walk) in a safe neighbourhood. Fantastic views over the Guanabara bay and the Pão de Açúcar. Very moderately priced huge rooms with views either over the Flamengo beach or the lush Parque do Catete. Excellent breakfast and a good buffet restaurant (lunch only) on the 12th floor with breathtaking views.

bed was uncomfortable with really old springs almost getting out, plenty of bed bugs and an AC as loud as a car engine, the bathroom didn't have glass doors so it got easily flooded.
The wifi is free, yet the impression you have is that they paid a child to run around the floor with the router because with your device absolutely still it will vary from no wifi to full signal. Thankfully I had my 4g which was way faster!
The good things I could find: nice water pressure on the shower, friendly staff and really nice breakfast.response / report this review -

Nice and clean rooms with air conditioning. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Location is great and walking distance from the beach and other shopping malls. Internet is fast and sufficient. Some rooms don't have a great view and face to other high old buildings. No complementary water in the rooms like other hotels but a bar fridge with the drinks, water and snacks are available in the room. Breakfast with a good spread. However not a full English breakfast with bacon etc. Taxis outside the hotel is available with a reasonable rate. The hotel also assist with tours in the city with outside service providers. Prices are reasonable and the service is trustworthy and very sufficient. Hotel has a gym and restaurants for supper. Hotel is only twenty one kilometres from the international airport. Safes are in the room to keep your valuables. Laundry services are also provided with fare rates. No deposit is required when booking in. All extras can be paid after booking out or day of departure. Rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels put in the rooms. The hotel is seven kilometres from Copacabano beach. Elevators are also a bit old but efficient. Televisions in the rooms with local TV stations. Hotel prices are reasonable and affordable for guest who don't look for to much luxury.

Nice location. I had a little problem. I asked to leave the car for sometime after the check out, in the check in they said it was fine, but in the check out they said the garage was full.

The bed was uncomfortable with really old springs almost getting out, I'm greeted in my room by bugs and an AC as loud as a car engine, the bathroom didn't have glass doors so it got easily flooded. I ordered room service because I had arrived after 11pm so nothing around was available. I chose a sandwich/burger which costed 35 reais and supposedly made with Tenderloin. All sandwiches comes with fries. I get my meal and the meat is clearly not tenderloin and about half a centimeter thick! Even being this thin I could barely get a bite out from being so tough. And the fries were soaked in old reused oil. Depressing.

Well located and not so expensive. It has its own restaurant and good options around. Unfortunately, being old, there are some issues, such as air conditioning, which I consider very important by the climate of the city.

nice hotel. there's always at least one English speaking person at the desk, however that's as far as it goes. the restaurant and all other areas are pretty much zero English, good luck. I got a superior room with partial sea view. it was very bare. no bath. air conditioning is old and loud. quite a small space. cleaning services were decent, definitely not the best. location is pretty decent considering you're in Flamengo area which is about a 7 minute drive to Copacabana beach. the staff are very very friendly and helpful. the first few levels of public access and seating areas are beautiful and well maintained, which is a contrast to the very drab dull rooms. the free wifi was quite decently fast here. The beach opposite is arguably just as nice as Copacabana beach but it's a lot quieter and much more peaceful. Breakfast was so good!! so much fruit and mangoes and nice hot eggs and sausages and lots of breads and sweet breads and jams.
