Just left the hospital after being treated under gastroenterology department and doctor Najah Alzayani. My whole experience was traumatic and stressful because of the poor care, chaos and being treated unethically. As a chronic illness patient this is by far my worst hospital experience. I don’t recommend this hospital or any of their doctors as I have seen most of them and they’re all horrible.

The hospital doesn’t not have a proper professional team who can write medical report to insurances. I spent the last 24 hours in the hospital waiting for approval from my insurance, to discover that all reports contained grammatical errors, medical errors, error in writing my gender, age and no clear justification of why I was kept as an in patient. I corrected them few times then realised that I’m doing the doctors job for them, so I had to leave the hospital without paying the bill as I was getting very stressed, tired and was the middle person between my insurance company and the hospital.(Note that I carry VIP insurance that covers even dental care)

When getting my endoscopy done, I was kept without solids for 48 hours and no water for some hours prior that, because they were doing so many procedures at once. My understanding was to do the procedure as soon as possible in the morning as I’m getting tired, no specific time was given to me. I had to wait for long hours for the doctor to show up as she was in a meeting, then I found out she pushed another patient before me. I was then transferred to the prep room to wait for more hours. The nurses around me were very stressed and they gave me an empty consent form to sign (saying the doctor will fill out the procedure name later) which was unethical. I had to fight for my right before the procedure which made me very stressed, I then refused to undergo the endoscopy as I was worried that being stress could lead to complications, I then unwillingly was transferred to the procedure room, my thought was I’ll find the doctor there who didn’t show up. I was alone crying and scared. She then came and didn’t take the time to make sure I consented to the procedure or that I have changed my mind. The sedative was then given to me without any heads up. When I woke up I still didn’t speak to the doctor, she then informed me about my condition on the phone and didn’t take the time to show up in person.

So many bad stories happen to me in BSH but this was by far the worse. I will escalate the matter to NAHRA. Please if you care about being healthy and receiving good care, don’t go to this hospital.

I have had a fantastic experience with the dentist Dr. Fatima Abbas. She knows how to deal with children and makes dentist visits easy for parents and children. She has amazing interaction skills with children and peforms her job with the highest levels of professionalism.

Despite being old still remains modern and the uplift the management continues to perform shows clearly that they strive to maintain it at top levels. It's is a bit expensive vs. others, and if you are non insured, watch out. We have great service in maternity experience and a bad experience with the orthopaedic. In-patient rooms are big and excellent for accepting visitors. Visiting times are till 7 pm. Nurses are friendly, very professional, and trained well. Receptionists are ok and helpful. Across the hospital, there are a lot of signanges that won't make u feel lost , and you can easily find your way to any department. Insurance is super in terms of follow-ups and confirmations. Coffee shop and bites available on the ground floor along with indoor a d outdoor seating area. The good thing is that there is plenty of waiting area for all departments. This hospital is equipped with the latest technology machines and medical equipment , which brings comfort to patients.

Located in Juffair, Bahrain Speciallist hospital is one of the oldest private hospitals in Bahrain and rated one of the best if not the best on the island!

It’s famous for its fancy and big rooms also known for its famous doctors for example (Dr Mohamed Rasheed) a pediatrician and (Dr Maria Isabel) maternity and many more.

The hospital accepts most insurance and if you don’t have insurance usually they have offers and discounts for non insurance holders.

We often use counseling services. Registration takes a long time and the ladies still cannot find anything in the system. The pharmacy is a massacre! Ladies come to work late, they move very slowly - as the third person in line I waited 25 minutes to be served!
Emergency room the same - nice but you wait and wait. There is chaos in the dental and ophthalmic surgery, as well as long waiting times. It's cold all over the hospital because of the air conditioning. The parking lot is usually crowded and you have to walk a bit but you can always find a spot.
Pros: Telephone appointments work efficiently, good Ortpeda, good Andrologist / Endocrinologist, Neurologist (Dr. Mahmoud Hesham), Cardiologist (Dr. Prashant Prabhakar), Internist / Nephrologist (Dr. Sara Fakhredine). A good laboratory!
MRI and X-rays are working efficiently. Professional and punctual rehabilitation.
Good coffee on site - COSTA :-)

The hospital is great, especially in terms of the quality of staff, doctors and nurses. Though the hospital does feel a bit old (which it is). The lounge/waiting area is such a nice place though unfortunately offering the bare minimum. A gift shop which looked okay and a coffee shop offering nothing that looks exciting or appealing. Bring your own coffee and/or snack seems to be the message there. Which is a shame as the lounge/waiting area has such great potential.

Review for Sebaceous Cyst removal. paper work/ admin was ok . The only thing is During the operation Dr Uday Singh phone kept on ringing and his assistant coughing on her hands in the middle of the operation. I would expect a Dr to put his phone on silent but this time It felt I have to keep up with his phone ringing while trying to relax, nurse didn’t wear gloves so level of professionalism is lacking.

The quality of work I can’t comment as I’m only leaving the operation room. I will up date later on this review

Update1 :second visit to check and the nurse forgot to make sure I had an appointment.
The Dr work is ok. Not bad nor good. Just average, and again showed up with his phone in the hand and thank god he left it to check my surgery. Nurse this time wore gloves.

Update2: it left a clear mark, his work is not that clean and as a result you can see the skin level is not equal. Poor stitching skills and thank god it didn’t matter that much.

Terrible! Rude ER nurses. Slow and indifferent nursing station staff. The GP shoved me off to ER after a 10 minute "consultation" as he was going home. Neither ER staff nor the GP actually inspected the infectious insect bite I had..just gave antibiotics. I have to go to another hospital now as it has just gotten worse. Avoid this hospital!

Coming with fever to get injection and check my light cough - in the end spend almost 2 hrs most of it waiting. Hospital was not busy and still so much time of waiting. Doctor and nurse were nice and professional but still that waiting

I recently visited this hospital with an infection. The place is chaotic with one department not knowing what the other is doing.

I was lucky to find a competent Indian doctor who took various tests. However, despite charging me over $1,000 for these tests, I had to wait 2 weeks for the results. Then they told me the laboratory was 'unable to identify the bacteria'. Hopeless and massively overpriced. One to avoid.

I haven’t had a bad experience here. The team is always professional and kind. I feel at ease here even though I HATE hospitals. Best thing is that they really don’t keep you waiting! If you’re appointment is at 6pm you’ll be seen by the doctor around that time.

It's a good hospital but the staff is not co operative. I had appointment with Dr at 7:30 but i reached there at 7:40.The lady at the reception said that you are too late and the dr just left.But I have reached his clinic and request him for the check-up.
This is very un professional.Though they will charge you too much.It's most expensive hospital in bahrain.

Worst experience ever in life!!! Some doctors don't follow up after surgery!!! Means you will not see your doctor after the operation!! It takes them for ever to contact the insurance company!!! You will sit for as minimum 3hours waiting for approval you call the nurse for help they come after 20 minutes!!!they give you appointment at specific time and you end up waiting in a queue!!That was my personal experience more than one time with Bahrain spesialist hospital
