  Authentic- tasting Indian food is rare in Sofia. The food here is very good. Attentive service. English spoken. Prices a bit high.but worth it for the food.

  The staff was very courteous and helpful. They spoke good English. The food was a hit or miss. The bread was good but the curry was undercooked.

  Very average North-Indian styled food served by supercilious staff in an unpleasant cavern. Ask for tap water and you'll be told the water is not drinkable. That's an outright lie. Avoid.

  I love across the street from that place. Food is generally great, especially their dahls. Sometimes though the seasoning can be very off to the point where the dish is inedible. Then again this happened mostly with takeaway orders.

  Had a takeaway from Taj Mahal during a short stay in Sofia. Without a shadow of doubt the best curry I have had outside of Yorkshire! Would strongly recommend for expats and tourists looking for an authentic Indian meal.

  Very nice restaurant. Atmosphere is pleasant in the multi level restaurant. Staff was very nice and the food was excellent. My only complaint would be the onion Bhaji is not prepared traditionally but more as a pancake and was not good. The vegetable samosa and the entrees were excellent.

  I've been here 3 times now, so feel I've developed a fuller understanding, and I hope the following will be useful for you.
  
  This restaurant is worthy of 5 stars, however it showed some shortcomings on my last visit and I have since heard some information that will explain it.
  
  The first two visits, the curry sauces were out of this world! The Jeera rice (my staple side) and Nan brad were excellent. The last visit the curry sauces were still top notch but the rice and nans were of inferior quality. Issues being the jeera rice wasn't well prepared and the garlic nans were too thin so they went very crispy, I like them a little thicker normally so they don't go so crisp but they are also still light. Still good, but not up to the quality I would expect.
  
  It turns out that they have two cooks (or so I was told, though I will happily be corrected if I'm wrong) so the quality will understandably vary slightly. However, I still rate this restaurant extremely highly. I have tried almost all of the Indians in Sofia I would rate this as top two for sure. If the quality was constantly consistent it would steal that top spot.

  The paneer dishes are prepared very well, the pander is melt in the mouth and the variety of flavours it is served with is excellent.
  Chicken Madras is top drawer if you fancy something with a little heat.
  Garlic Nan is amazing, Veggie Nan I have tried once and it was pretty tasty.
  Lentil dishes are tasty although some are inconsistent with flavours.

  They have Indian chefs and real tandoori ovens. I've been to more cities in India than most Indians and I can say quite simply, the best tandoori food outside the Sub Continent that I have ever had..
