Nice room, I like the gym only thing was missing gloves for the punch bag and treadmil(run outside on a good day)

A bit outdated, 2 singles beds next to each other and not a double bed. Carpet was really old.
The breakfast was nice.
The restaurant cuisine is traditional but well executed and service was fine.
I would give 3,5* if available.

Not sure if all the rooms are as nice but mine was big with a sea view, huge bathroom and a comfortable bed. Bar / restaurant staff could be a bit abrupt but reception were polite and welcoming. It's an old building so the fittings and hairdryer weren't modern but they've done a good job to blend old and new. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold options. Would recommend for a true seaside trip

Great hotel with interesting history. Inside refreshing and well-groomed. Delicious breakfasts with champagne! :)
Unfortunately from the outside the building ruins it can be seen especially from the beach side.

We had some time and found a deal: since we stayed a Thursday night in winter, it was very cheap for what we got: a room with a sea-view, breakfast, and access to the private sauna! Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and with a magnificent view. The building breaths history, but in a way you can appreciate - or at least, we could.
We also rented bikes to drive around (which, in my experience, is the best way to get to know a city) even though temperatures were sub-zero.
We had a good time!

“Uber worn out hotel, urgent need for refurb. is this the 'Grand Hotel Budapest' !?”

Urgent attention needed to the rooms as they are more basic and worn out that fred flintstones cave house. Hotel is massive with huge long walks to some of the rooms.

Restarant was ok but we had a corporate set menu so i cant comment on the standard menu or cost. Bar was ok and a local beer called Bollo*ks was quite funny when ordering a round.

nice early morning walk along the seafront is good.

Room Tip: last resort in this area

Every day or most every day, my mother and I go to the Brasserie Albert and
have some afternoon tea and pancakes. Must say service is friendly, you
feel going back to the 1930, negative point are the broken tea pots, if not
excellent tea and gaufres or pancakes. Hotel need urgently mayor restaura-
tion, hope city of Ostend start helping this wonderfull building where my 90th year mother and I feel in peace and not surrounded by crazy holiday
people;
