A marvellous collection of art housed in the artist, Peter Paul Rubens' own house, itself an interesting melding of a traditional Belgian townhouse with an Italianate addition to the side. The house is decorated and furnished in a style of the time of Rubens. Definitely worth a visit. €8 per adult , consessions available.

Beautiful house, the garden is beautiful in the summer. The entrance is free the last Wednesday of the month. So I go overtime I can. My favorite room is the dinning room and the yellow room with the white statues.

Wau, great museum and excellent accompanying app explanations. Be sure to have headphones with you so you can listen to the explanations from you phone without disturbing other visitors. Would definitely recommend.

I would put Rubens House down as being a bit over-hyped. It definitely needn't be considered a "must do" activity. The rooms inside are quite small, and with the number of visitors you don't get the sense that you're really allowed the time to stop and appreciate the art.
One of the most famous paintings, the self portrait of Rubens , isn't currently there as it's being restored. I didn't see any notification of this beforehand, although maybe I just missed it.response / report this review -

At a fair price, you're allowed to view a nice amount of paintings, statues, and more. The building really brings you back to Rubens time period and helps to appreciate the works even more. However, you're guided down a set path through the house, and some hallways/rooms get pretty small, so try to avoid visiting during busy hours if you can.

Great piece of history. Besides so many beautiful paintings, gives you an idea what a successful painter's life must have been like 400 years ago.

The exhibit was nice but the one star is because some of the staff were rather rude. Main thing was I wasnt allowed to go back to a room I passed - was told it was house rules. Utter rubbish. There isn't proper signage (including on doors) or floor plan with the guide booklet, so how are guests supposed to orientate themselves or know that we cant go back?
And many of the paintings did not have the labeling numbers, which didnt help when you're supposed to guide yourself.response / report this review -

Interesting visit with nice guidebook. Beautiful house and garden. The work exhibited are mine if the major works but interesting nonetheless, and accompanying descriptions are carefully done. Well worth the visit.

This is a great museum to discover who really Rubens was. It gives you an idea of the reason Rubens can be considered one of the firsts "rockstars" among painters. I recommend to arrive early to avoid the crowds and take the necessary time to enjoy the visit.

An amazing place but the staff are incredibly rude and unfriendly. I didn't like how I wasn't able to go back and look at something once I'd left a room, the guy on the entrance made a huge fuss about me taking my umbrella in even though I told him it wasn't wet and had dried off since a shower and staff constantly hovered around when you were looking at things, which made me feel very uncomfortable. It might be their main tourist attraction but they don't seem to want people to enjoy it.
