One of the emerging educational institution in Bangladesh, which is trying to create good impact in the society and for the nation. Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was a student of this institution which has glorious past and remarkable future.

In 1970, the then Pakistant Govt. established this School named ”Central Govt. Girls’ High School”, at ”Ayub Nagar” in Dhaka for the children of Govt. employee. In 1971 when Bangladesh became independent, the name of the area has been turned in to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. The greatest legendary man of Bangla A.K.Fazlul Huq acclaims the title ”Bangler Bagh” (The tiger of Bangla) as the recognition of his glorious activities during his life time. The area has been named according to the name of this legend. Then the name of the school has been renamed as ”Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Govt. Girls’ High School”. From the very beginning there were two shifts in the scnool and there were two languages as the means of teaching. In morning shift, the students’ were taught in Urdu and in day shift the students’ were taught in Bangla. After independence, in both shifts the means of teaching was Bangla. Till 1975, both boys’ and girls’ were taught combined in the morning shift from class 1 – 5. Later on only girls’ were admitted and in course of time it has turned in to full fledged ”Girls’ High School”.
