Dhaka Community Medical College offers 5 years MBBS course approved by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Bangladesh. Affiliated by University of Dhaka, recognized by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC). In addition dental unit for the course of BDS was started in the year 2013-2014 & is going on.

Dhaka Community Medical College is aimed to produce need based skilled Community oriented doctors. Efforts will be given to help the students to gain an updated knowledge and to produce competent, committed and accountable doctors who will be able to lead the healthcare sector as leaders to fulfill the health problems of the community and to acquire strong background for future trainining and higher studies.

The campus of the Dhaka Community Medical College is located in the center of Dhaka city at 190/1, Boro Moghbazar, Wireless Rail gate, Dhaka-1217, Bangladesh. At present, Pre clinical, Para clinical & clinical academic activities are running in 12 storied (under construction) building . Clinical Services, teaching and training activities are held in adjoining 500-bedded hospital complex. The medical College Hospital is 14-storied building (Under Construction). At Present Hospital Building is 12 storied. The college has access to urban and rural health care centers at different places of Bangladesh.

The library is well furnished with comfortable sitting arrangement, situated in the hospital building. It has a collection of update common textbooks, reference books, journals in various subjects which can provide up to date information to the students and teachers. The library is also equipped with computers along with Internet connections. The library is provided with separate reading area for the students as well as for the teachers. The students are allowed to borrow textbooks for reading in college and at home. It remains open from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm in all working days, Books, Journals (National & International) Periodicals are sufficently available as per University requirements.

Computer facilities along with free internet connection are available for students and Teacher in every department.

Dhaka community medical college has a large canteen within the Campus. Canteen services are available from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Canteen provides varities of palatable and hygienic food at a cheaper rate for the students, teachers & staff of the college & hospital.

Dhaka Community Medical College has befiting Hostel accommodation for the female student as wel as for foreign students near by the college campus. In addition rental accommodation for male Students are also available around the college campus

Affordable cost. I went there to Dr. Md. Ejaz Hossain (D. Card) due to my high blood pressure. He is a good doctor, didn’t give me any medicine except a motivational life style suggestions with few tests (though my problem was not a big issue, i was in the first stage) and hospital is also good in terms of cost.

It is very helpful for poor people! As I know as a medical college there are huge passed students who's are ready for giving the treatment to their patients.

There are huge poor peoples are living besides of this community hospital. Peoples are also coming for low budgeted treatment.

I have visited this hospital so many times & two times for treatment purpose to check their treatment process & to know the real internal situation of doctors.

I am satisfied about their treatment and diagnosis.

কম খরচে গুণগত চিকিৎসা পাওয়ার জন্য হাসপাতালটা খুব ভালো।
প্রথমে বহিঃবিভাগ দেখাতে চাইলে খরচ পরবে ৫০টাকা।
এছাড়া registered ডাক্তার দেখালে খরচ পরবে ১০০ টাকা।
আপনি যদি professor কে দেখাতে চান তাহলে খরচ পরবে ৬০০ টাকা।

সেখানে ওষুধ কিনলে ১০% কমে পাওয়া যাবে।

অভ্যন্তরীণ পরিবেশ অত্যন্ত ভালো। খুব পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন। এটি মগবাজার রেললাইন এর পাশে অবস্থিত।

Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCH Trust) is a trust-owned private, non-profit making and self financed organization providing health care for low-income underprivileged people. It was established in 1988. Since its inception, Dhaka Community Hospital has been implementing with an integrated and sustainable health care delivery system at an affordable cost in both the urban and rural areas of Bangladesh. Besides basic health care services, this organization is also working for disaster management, arsenic mitigation, safe water supply and community based development program. Special focus and emphasis is given on gender equity. It has successfully introduced a health insurance scheme in its project areas. The idea is to bring modern health care facilities to the less affluent section of the population at a cost which they can afford. DCH Trust has a fully equipped hospital with 500 beds, as well as established medical institutes like Medical College, Institute of Community Health, Nursing Institute and various Paramedic and Medical technology courses.

DCH has a large experience to work disaster risk reduction and management both in nationally and internationally. Nationally DCH provide health service and implement rehabilitation programme during and post disaster like building collapse, cyclone, tornado and flood and internationally it provided health service and training during earthquake in Pakistan in 2005. DCH successfully responded to the SIDR 2007 with affected people on Health, Shelter and Safe Water and Sanitation aspect.

Pros:
1. Service is good.
2. Cost is relatively low in comparison to other private medicals.
3. HDU service is available. So, critical patients can be operated.
4. Common surgical & obstetric cases can be operated on package basis.
5. Their surgery & orthopedics department are really good.
Cons:
1. Medical college hospital. So, service can be delayed a little bit.
2. ICU, NICU service is not available. So, critical obstetric patients should not be operated here.
3. No CCU service. So, unstable cardiac patients shouldn't be admitted here.
