This is the first private university in Bangladesh since 1992. This one is the most desirable institution where everyone wants to admit. the environment is so greenery, peaceful, and located in a residential area that is so secure. There is available so many things like a cafe, canteen, cafeteria, open gallery, students and society affair faculty, Central library, book shop, photocopy shop, etc.
The educational system is so satisfying so it can be said that it is the best private university in Bangladesh 🇧🇩
It's temporarily closed right now for this pandemic issue.

The university campus is the best in Bangladesh accounting to what I have experienced. The campus had great security and ID system. The admissions officer was great and willing to give me time to talk about my queries. They have spacious offices and its all luxurious compared to some of the other universities in Bangladesh.

North South University was one of the first privately owned educational institution(University) in Bangladesh. It was established in 1992. When Bangladesh got back to democracy and government decided to liberalise the educational and media sector. Since then, there is a mushrooming growth of both sectors. North South University was standing alone with it's founding members. After retirement of some of them, it started to slide. Greed trumped quality of education! It is sad to know that because of few individuals one fine Institution is going down to the path of so many others!

The government of Bangladesh approved the establishment of North South University in 1992 under the Private University Act (PUA) 1992 (now replaced by PUA 2010). The university was formally inaugurated on 10 February 1993, by Prime Minister
Khaleda Zia .
The university ranked 1st among the private universities and 12th among all the universities in research output on the Bangladesh University Ranking 2017.

The university's campus is located at
Bashundhara in Dhaka. It is the largest private university in Bangladesh, in terms of both student population and campus size. The foundation of the campus was laid on 30 January 2003 by Begum Khaleda Zia .[5] Classes started in the permanent campus from 9 June 2009.
This campus can serve up to 20,000 students with amenities and facilities. It contains six buildings with three basements on six acres of land having 665,000 square feet of floorspace.

North South University (NSU), the first private university in Bangladesh, was established in 1992 by the then Foundation for Promotion of Education and Research (FPER) - a charitable, non-profit, non-commercial and non-political organization. The FPER later was renamed as the NSU Foundation and is presently called the North South Foundation. The Foundation is comprised of a group of eminent industrialists, prominent patrons of education, notable philanthropists, widely experienced academics and senior civil servants of the country. In the early 1990s, they had a dream to set up a world-class university as a center of excellence in higher education in the private sector. Their dedication, tireless efforts, and hard work paved the way for approval of the establishment of NSU.
