Great institution! One of the best and oldest College in Chittagong. It was established in 1874 as Chittagong Madrasha. After a few years there was a remarkable change in here. It named after the great donator Hazi Muhammad Mohsin.

This college has contributed a lot to spread the education of greater Chittagong region.Although the college is affiliated with the National University, it is equivalent to any government university. Here, there are twenty courses in graduate and ppostgraduate studies.

Hazi Muhammad Mohsin College is considered as one of the best and it is also a primitive college in Chittagong. First of all, it is a government college. Being a public institute, the scope of the college for attracting students is quite good. The college is sorrounded by natural beauties which increases its pulchritude so much. By the way, the educatinal facilities is enormous in this institution. The college have eight buildings covering the most percentile of the largest areas. Accommodation for the students are also available as there is actually the presence of two Hostels. A central mosque is also located insidw tge campus. The college always try to keep pace with the modern trend by providing sufficient educational facilities to the students and top class students get admitted into the college. I also.has studied in this college and believe me, the milieu is harmonious.

The College area covers almost 31 acres (130,000 m2) of land decked with beautiful landscape. The college Campus wears a garb of natural panoramic beauty. It is housed in eight metalled buildings on an extensive beautiful campus in the lap of nature. The beautiful campus provides the students with a friendly and healthy atmosphere to study in natural tranquility. Here both head and heart go together. A beautiful playground stretches to the south of the college gate, supplying the students a great scope to participate in different games and sports.

Govt. Haji Mohd. Mohsin College , Chittagong is an illustrious Govt. educational institution of Bangladesh. Under the auspices of the ‘Mohsin Fund’ formed by the ” Wakf-state ” of Haji Mohd. Mohsin , it was established in 1874 as Chittagong Madrasa . In 1915, Madrasha education underwent a remarkable change and in 1918 the innovated name as New Scheme Madrasa came into being to expedite Madrasa education. Chittagong Madrasa housed in Portuguese Building was gradually developed into Islamic Intermediate College in 1927 to promote higher education . Again in 1967 Govt. Higher Secondary College was founded at the foot of the hill . On July 20, 1979, the new college named Govt. Haji Mohd. Mohsin College , Chittagong came into existence through the unification of Islamic Intermediate College and Govt. Higher Secondary College . The same year, it started to offer both undergraduate and higher secondary courses in three faculties (Science, Humanities and Business Studies). At present, the college is a post graduate educational institution offering Masters programs in Economics, Accounting, Management, Political Science, Bengali, English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Botany affiliated with National University . It also offers four year honours courses in Bengali, English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Political Science, Islamic History And Culture, Islamic Studies, Philosophy, Economics, Accounting and Management.
