আন্ধারমানিক নদীর মোহনার পশ্চিম দিকে রয়েছে সুন্দরবনের শ্বাসমূলীয় বনাঞ্চল, নাম তার ফাতরার বন। ভৌগোলিক ভাবে বরগুনা জেলায় বাগানটির অবস্থান থাকলেও কুয়াকাটায় আগত পর্যটকরা বিনোদনের জন্য সেখানে ট্রলার যোগে যাতায়াত করেন। তবে সুন্দরবনের মত এ বনে নেই তেমন কোন হিংস্র প্রাণী। বন মোরগ, বানর আর নানান পাখি আছে এ বনে। কদাচিৎ এ বনে বুনো শুকরের দেখা মেলে। কুয়াকাটা থেকে ফাতরার বনে যেতে হবে ইঞ্জিন নৌকায়।

In the region other than the kuakata sea beach, Buddha statue, if you want to see and enjoy something then you should not miss to visit here.To go there you have to go Alipur bazar and there are seaboat you have to go by it, you should choose a cool.calmy day, other wise the river might be very very angry. It will take near about 50.minutes by the boat, per head 250 tk. you can hire the whole worth about 1600- 2000tk. The journey on the way is fantastic. Surely you will enjoy it.

Quiet Beautiful and amazing place no crowd. there have two food shop one pond and a big reserve forest. if you want to take lunch here then you have to ordered first. then you can go to the char where a huge open space you can play football you can run you can get the fresh breach. sea side trees are really strange a lot of roots with tree that might get you some nice pictures.

কুয়াকাটা সমুদ্রের বিস্তীর্ন বালিয়াড়ি ছেড়ে পশ্চিমদিকে গেলে চোখে পড়বে ঘোলাজলের ছোট্ট স্রোতস্বিনী একটি নদী ও বিক্ষুব্দ সাগর মোহনার বুকে জেগে উঠা ফাতারার বন বা ফাতরার চর নামক সংরক্ষিত ম্যানগ্রোভ বনাঞ্চল। এর আয়তন কমবেশি ৯৯৭৫০৭ একর। ইতিমধ্যে এটি ‘দ্বিতীয় সুন্দরবন‘ হিসেবে পরিচিতি ও খ্যাতি পেয়েছে। এখানে রয়েছে কেওড়া, গেওয়া, সুন্দরী, ফাতরা, গরান, বাইন, গোলপাতা ইত্যাদি ম্যানগ্রোভ প্রজাতির উদ্ভিদ এবং বানর, শূকরসহ অসংখ্য জীবজন্তু ও পাখি।

সুন্দরবনের একটি অংশ হচ্ছে এই চর। দিনে দুবার এটি জোয়ার-ভাটায় প্লাবিত হয়। অজগর, গোখরা, গুই সাপের মতো সরীসৃপেরও দেখা পেতে পারেন ভাগ্য সহায় হলে। এ ছাড়া ছোট-বড় বিভিন্ন প্রজাতির পাখির ডাকে আপনি বিমোহিত হবেন। দিগন্ত বিস্তৃত সমুদ্রের বুকে চলার কিছুক্ষণ পরই আপনার চোখে পড়বে সাগরের বুকে জেগে ওঠা ফাতরার চরের বনভূমি। এ যেন সাগরের বুকে ভাসমান কোনো অরণ্য। ট্রলারে চেপে যখনই আপনি ফাতরার চরের খালে ঢুকবেন, তখনই আপনাকে স্বাগত জানাবে দুপাশের ঘন সবুজ অরণ্য। ট্রলারের জেটি পেরিয়ে আপনি চরের ভেতরে ঢুকলেই চোখে পড়বে শান-বাঁধানো একটি পুকুর ও বন বিভাগ নির্মিত একটি রেস্টহাউস। মূলত চরে অস্থায়ীভাবে বসবাস করা মানুষের মিঠাপানির জন্য করা হয়েছে এই পুকুর। বন বিভাগের কয়েকজন বনরক্ষী ছাড়া এখানে কেউ স্থায়ীভাবে বসবাস করে না। পুকুরপাড় দিয়ে আপনি এবার প্রবেশ করবেন ঘন গহিন অরণ্যে। প্রকৃতির এই নিস্তব্ধতার মাঝে ক্ষণে ক্ষণে ডেকে ওঠা পাখির ডাক আপনাকে নিয়ে যাবে এক অন্য জগতে। চরের পূর্ব অংশে রয়েছে একটি ছোট সমুদ্রসৈকত, ভাটার সময়ে আপনি নামতে পারেন এই সৈকতটিতে। এখানে যেতে হলে বনের সবুজ অরণ্য আর কয়েকটি ছোট খালের ওপরে তৈরি বাঁশের সাঁকো পেরিয়ে যেতে হবে। ঘন সবুজ পেরিয়ে সাগরের বিশালতা মুগ্ধ করবে যেকোনো ভ্রমণপিয়াসী মানুষকে। তবে দৃষ্টিনন্দন এই চরটিতে এখনো পর্যটকদের জন্য থাকার কোনো স্থায়ী ব্যবস্থা গড়ে ওঠেনি। তবে বন বিভাগের কোনো কর্তাব্যক্তির অনুমতি সাপেক্ষে আপনি থাকতে পারেন ওই রেস্টহাউসে।

কখন যাবেনঃ

কেবল নভেম্বর থেকে মার্চ পর্যন্ত সময়েই আপনি ঢুকতে পারবেন ফাতরার চরে। আপনি মাত্র দুই ঘণ্টা সুযোগ পাবেন চরটি ঘুরতে।

কিভাবে যাবেনঃ

কুয়াকাটা থেকে প্রতিদিন অসংখ্য ট্রলার বনের উদ্দেশ্যে ছেড়ে যায়। ইচ্ছে করলে রিজার্ভ করেও যাওয়া যায়। সময় লাগবে ২ ঘন্টার মত।

কোথায় খাবেনঃ

ফাতরার চরে খাওয়ার তেমন কোন ব্যবস্থা নেই। একটি মাত্র দোকান আছে যেখানে মোটা চালের ভাত সাথে মুরগী পাওয়া যায়। এছাড়া আপনি যাওয়ার পথে সাথে শুকনা খাবার নিয়ে যেতে পারেন।

Very nice place. It would be incomplete tour of kuakata if you don't visit this place. You will enter this place by boat through a canal. You will have to go through a jungle path to go to the beach. Everything is so natural. You will have a feel of visiting cox Bazar and sundarban at the same time.

Its a eco forest. Must go there with proper safty measure and local guide. Nice and clam place for tracking and picnics. Don't go alone, few wild animals available inside the forest. its a small mangrove forest like Sundarban.
