The School is comemorate Late Momim Uddin Howlader.

Momin Smrity High School is about 7 km to the south of Mathbaria Upazilla sadar.

Momin Smrity High School founded by Late Moulvi Tasil Uddin Howlader associated with his nephew Mr. Delowar Hossen Badal Howlader. Moulvi Tasil Uddin Howlader was a famous social reformer. He played a vivid role against the British under the leadership of Sher-e Bangla A K Fazlul Haque along with Late Abdur Rashid (Kutti Mia), Khan Saheb Harem Ali Jomaddar. He was a close ally with late Mohiuddin Ahmed Panna Mia. He was a member of Krishak Praja Party.

Moulvi Tasil Uddin Howlader was a freedom fighter participated in liberation war '71 along with his four sons and a nephew. As a result Pakistani soldiers colaborated with rajakar Engineer Abdul Jabbar torched his two houses totally burned down.

He is the co-founder of South Gulishakhali Momim Memorial High School comemorate his elder brother Late Momin Uddin Howlader.
