Universities are the highest seats of learning that come about through an effective and prudently designed academic and curricular combined with an agreement to achieving research excellence. The hallmark view about the academic profession since its inception has been that human knowledge is a never-ending pursuit of the truth; that there is no humanly accessible truth that is not in principle open to challenge; and that no party, ruler or intellectual faction can be assumed to have a monopoly or absolute control on wisdom. Therefore, learning is most likely to thrive in an environment of intellectual diversity that protects and fosters independence of thought and speech leading to enrichment of individuals and the society.

And being aware of the current tendency of students to go abroad seeking quality education, this institution is conveniently located at the heart of the port city of Chittagong which is also the commercial capital of Bangladesh.
East Delta University offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The University is approved by the Government of Bangladesh as well the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) under the Private University Act of Bangladesh. It is governed by the Chittagong Foundation, an independent and non-partisan social organization.

Background of the Establishment of the University: East Delta University (EDU) has been established in the port city of Chittagong located in the easternmost part of the deltaic Bangladesh. Its establishment as a private university was duly approved by the Government and the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2006 to offer both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. In fact, the initiative to establish EDU was then undertaken by a corporate body called Chittagong Foundation, intellectuals, politicians, businessmen and social activists of Chittagong.
Founded on the principle of academic freedom, EDU opens its doors to those young men and women of the 21st century who will be ready to provide leadership to the community, society and nation of their own as well as to the global community at large. As a dynamic, diverse, not-for-profit private institution, EDU is dedicated to providing high quality educational programs of distinction and preparing students for lifelong learning and leadership roles in business and professionals. EDU also stands for excellence inside and outside the classroom, as well as for providing world class academic programs, library and research facilities, and job placements, which are the hallmarks of the university education. Hence, now one does not have to leave home in Chittagong and elsewhere in Bangladesh for quality education overseas. Quality education is now right at the doorstep, i.e. right here in Chittagong, the commercial capital of Bangladesh.
However, EDU’s commitment to quality education centers on focusing only in a very limited number of programs initially. It is a conscious decision to offer only in the areas where we can make a difference.

Permanent campuses r not available yet.The university is viewed as primary school by many people.The quality of education provided by EDU is not up to the mark.

I passed 3.5 year and completed my Graduation from my home. Yes I called it my second home. Undoubtedly a sweetest University in this nation. Hardly found these type of Friendly environment in this commercial era.

This university is of the best university I should say. It has all the facilities that the university needs to entertain, to study, etc. The internet facilities are good enough. the faculty members are also friendly.
