We had a lovely weekend. The service was excellent, the setting was so relaxing. Breakfast at D'onoffrio was peaceful and filling. We had drinks and some great music at 1887 with a live band
This place was very beautiful. Food was great at every restaurant. Though the swordfish at L'Azure was way too salty. Couldn't even eat it. Loved that the pools never really closed. Downside when they were open there was no service or anywhere close by to get a drink. Theo and Natasha, were amazing and the only fun outgoing employees in the entire place. Valerie, was great too. Definitely for very low key, older vacationers looking for a nap. That is if you are not staying near the lot. There were cars and loud work trucks all morning for 5 of the 7 days. There were workers all day all over the hotel. The highlight of my vacation were the monkeys passing by once before the noise started. Loved all the coy ponds and botanicals. Definitely recommend visiting when there are no work trucks or seaweed on the beaches.
Feels like a home away from home. Love the food and service and the facilities -- so nice.
And the beach. Oh my the beach! Truly world-class. No seriously, Google it (Crane beach)
Beach is beautiful but too rough for going in comfortablly. Great service. Fabulous food. Lovely rooms. Ice cream parlor is excellent! 🍦
Used the pools at Crane Resort for a couple of hours and also the lunch and drink service. Have to say it was absolutely flawless apart from the wait for the food. However, this was understandable given the peak time of day and the volume of orders they had. The pools are amazing, the beach is extremely picturesque and the outlook is second to none. Thoroughly recommend a visit.
Fantastic experience. Zen Restaurant. V. Good food. Prompt serving. Fantastic service. Highly recommended
Was here a couple years ago with the wife on a company trip. Took very little flight time which surprised me as I'd never been outside the continental United States. The Barbados people were so very friendly and welcoming everywhere we went on the island. The resort staff that we encountered provided one of the best customer service experiences I've ever received. On our last day, we finally witnessed the family of monkeys, including a tiny baby one, that lives at the resort. If I ever have another opportunity to visit, I will not hesitate! #RumPunch
We had an amazing stay at The Crane. This hotel is situated away from other busy resorts and the main strip but is a $15-$20 cab to Bridgetown. The staff were all lovely and, given the price point, we wouldn't have asked for much else.
I can’t say enough about this place. It’s our second year and we are sorry to say goodbye. Secure, wonderful accommodating and friendly staff and the grounds are beautiful. Our kids love it too. Many conveniences that would normally not find here. Beach and pool restaurants. An on-site general store. In unit laundry and kitchen. Great stuff!
Thanks to Corey, Kyle and Rasheed(knows the ins and outs of the island better than anyone I’ve met)they made our beach and pool experience amazing. We feel so lucky to have found this hotel. We’ll be back next year!!!!
What a magical place. I would definitely go back. The workers were so nice, helpful, and welcoming. The resort is heavenly. I had such a wonderful time.
Beautiful, historic property. Didn’t feel overly-crowded. The accommodations are quite nice, but there is a lack of attention to a few details. (For example, the mattress was so firm, I thought maybe I was sleeping on a box spring, only!) In some respects, age is beginning to show in parts of the construction. (My walk-in shower had a leak that allowed a substantial amount of water to drain onto the bathroom floor.)
Our experience with the bar is the only reason for three stars instead of five. After an evening arrival, we were very hungry, and a very limited menu was available at 8:30 p.m. What we were able to order came out piecemeal, and took anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes to receive. One person in our party waited over an hour for food that he never got. When asked, the server told him that “someone else had probably eaten his food”, that the kitchen was closed, and nothing more could be done. This is despite the bar remaining busy, serving cocktails for several more hours.
On the second night, we ate around 7:00 p.m. in the main restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was very good.
Nice beach The Crane is supposed to be a 5 star resort in reality much like much of Barbados it's 4 star in the real world. I was taken and shown into my suite upon entering I was clearly still being used by other people. As their belongings were everywhere this didn't only happen to me. One companions walked into her suite only to find a guy in the shower. I'm not sure who was more scared by this encounter her or the poor guy trying to have a shower in peace. And a 3rd walked into her room to find a bird flying around, no hot water and then an American lady strolled into her room via the adjoining door to the next room. So not a great start to our stay really. Food expensive but drinks not as bad but they did run out of banks draft beer which I find odd. The staff seem helpful but some had attitudes but that seems to be vibe from most locals on Barbados. You'll get a roll of the eyes or a abrupt reply from the airport when you arrive to when you leave. On a positive the hotel was very clean and well laid out. Easy to get about and the beach was fantastic. One of the best beaches I've visited on my many visits to the island. After all of our negative starts to our stay they did try there best to rectify the problems.
Loved everything about this place but the food. It was average at best. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The resort is gorgeous!
Beautiful, I was only there for lunch, which was delicious. But I will make it my mission to stay there one day. Seems reasonable prices, in non peak season anyway! Beach is a bit rough, but you can use it as a base to get around the island if you rent a car. Overall, beautiful views, great view! One day!
Just went here for labor day weekend 2017 and had a great time. Staff very friendly room was clean and beautiful. It's a place where you can bring your kids or just do a couples getaway.
I love this place! !! You feel as if you are in a small suburban neighbourhood. The service is excellent, the rooms are beautiful and the food is great! Even if you just visit for dining purposes you will fall in love with the ambience. 5 stars for The Crane !!!
Superb services. Room and area clean and well maintain. A little pricy.
Zen restaurant is good.
Gym old need upgrading soon.
Nice indoor room pool.
We didn't swim in the outdoor pool as the water looks milky.
Would be 5 star if price better and better outdoor swimming
Beach is amazing. Location location location. Food was very good but service was not what you would expect for price of meals. After we adjusted to island time and island speed we fared better. Especially eating with small children requires planning ahead and just accepting every meal will take over an hour. No quick bite to eat. Few issues with infrastructure in our room. Water and air conditioning but hey its paradise
The BEST time-share experience I have EVER had! Been a time-share owner for 17 years. Stayed in time-shares all over the US and Caribbean. By far the BEST customer service I've seen. Dining options are very diverse. My palate never revisited the same taste during my week's stay. The beach TRULY IS one of the best IN THE WORLD!!! Pools were nicely designed, and relaxing. Our stay was 8-15 July. At that time the resort was not terrible full. Approximately 50% occupancy. Great for us!!!!
incidental fees $150 daily. If you looking for a peaceful relaxation place this is it. If not, this is not the place to be. there are no activities on the resort. If you are wanting to be closer to stores Bridge Town is 45 minutes away. Different restaurants on the island charge VAp tax, local tax and one more. Gratuity is included in your bill.
Breakfast at L'Azure was lovely and the views are spectacular. The food was good but the pancakes were great. What stood out for me more than the breathtaking views was the service provided for my table by Rodney he was intuitive of our needs, helpful and pleasant. Overall breakfast at the crane is something I would recommend to anyone.
It's excellent staff well mannered everything is perfect and up to standard the surroundings are well groomed and beautiful
Top notch vacation resort rentals, timeshare intervals, or whole unit ownership. Shops and restaurants on premises. Great beach and lots of pools.
Didn't stay here. Tried to get a day pass, but was not available. Still, over the phone, we were told that we could come by and enjoy breakfast, lunch, and the beach, which we did. It was a day wonderfully spent. Staff was friendly and helpful in a way that felt honest. The hotel is like a little village, and while it isn't my first preference when traveling (I prefer some cultural immersion), I would have had little to complain about. Clean, well appointed, with a understated uniformity. The beach is gorgeous and"down below"add the hotel is high on a cliff. At first I saw this ad a negative, due to needing to travel to the beach but you see very little hotel from the beach an almost half circle cliff surround the beach. Water is gorgeous, sand is white. This place is pricey, but if that is not a hindrance, I think you'll really enjoy. PS: not a party place, I'd guess. Couples and families there to relax. Far from any island bustle and party action.
BEWARE OF THE CRANE!
Setting is amazing on Crane Beach rooms are pretty nice then things go down hill quickly
- AC does not really work
- Expect cold showers
- Allow at least 2 hours if you want to order food by the pool
- Do not expect to get a lounge chair by the beach
- Buffet breakfast way overpriced for VERY basic / limited options - unable to order anything from menu. Had to order in room / room service to get something decent.
- Hotel bedding not provided for kids bed until late day 2 after several attempts and many calls and mishaps on night-one. Hotel did nothing for the fact my kids had no bed to sleep in!
- 2 days we did not have a bath towel for all of us
- Concierge had many mishaps, including inadequate advanced reservations like we requested (so unable to get into restaurants), sent to wrong restaurant one night not good
- Spa: There isn't one really. No facilities - there is a message room where you can change no showers, lockers, sauna, hot tub, etc. Misleading!
Overall, service was just very poor. Problem after problem. Realty is that hotels have bad days even bad weeks (it was Christmas vacation week). BUT, what really tells a story is how a hotel reacts when something does go wrong. The Crane failed miserably. They did nothing. Not even as much as an apology when leaving. In fact, as we checked out, nobody even asked how our stay was. Nothing! They just said, "here is your new balance, does that look right? " That was it. We loved the island and may indeed visit again one day but, as one of our cab drivers liked to say, "Not The Crane."
Simple elegant luxury! My husband kids and I absolutely love it there! We have visited four times and each time was excellent! As my son would say, "the Crane isn't just a hotel, it is a resort!"
