Probably the best hotel we have been to for a quiet holiday. Child friendly, although no organised activities that we could see. Staff helpful.
Good beach, lovely sand, good swimming, warm sea, although some days of red flags (OK to ignore if you are sensible) and sea weed in mid April.
Restaurants serve good quality food and sensible sized portions, so you are satisfied but don't pig out. Unless buffets are exceptional, this is so much better. Pool is good. Reasonable acts to play music most days.
We hired a car to visit other places on the island, like the caves, gardens, especially liked Hunte's garden - one of the most beautiful places you could see.

Loved the settings of the hotel with it's 'private' beach (all beaches are public in Barbados but this was secluded small beach). Restaurant is great too and pools were just right for kids. Entertainment and themed evening entertainment was great too.

Such a great experience. Would go back in a minute. Not fancy but very comfortable, all renovated and first class customer service. Beautiful grounds and beach front. Staff were amazing, so kind and friendly.

Stayed at the Bougainvillea last week. Part of the hotel was redone. Rooms were clean and looked nice but it looked like they tried to finish it quickly. Doors on the cabinets were falling off. Door knobs to the bedrooms were loose and falling off. Shower leaked all over the bathroom any time we took a shower. Closet sliding doors were falling off the track.
As for the Restaurant, breakfast was good. Dinner unfortunately wasn’t. Not many choices either. Bar menu also needs more items. We went with another family and would have liked to hang around outside at night and have some appetizers and drinks. Really wasn’t much to snack on.
I do have to say the beach was gorgeous. Property was very clean. I wish they had yoga actually at the hotel. They had to call someone to come to the hotel for classes. Christian was great. It would have been nice if they just offfered daily classes.
A big thank you to Kemar. He was always so helpful with information. Very friendly and willing to help with anything you needed.

Six family members visited in October 2017. There was renovations taking place. It was noisy, dirty and black mold and mildew on the walls. Nothing about it felt like four star. I wish I had taken photos.!

Excellent staff, very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Units have been updated just recently, giving them a clean refresed look. We've been coming here every year for the past 8 years, and plan to keep coming for the next 20. Home away from home!!!

Visited July 2017 for our first family holiday. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. The staff across the hotel are polite, attentive and helpful.

The facilities are second to none. Despite it being peak season there was room for everyone, with us never having to fight for sun loungers on the beach and by the pool (unlike in most European hotels).

The beach and scenery is absolutely beautiful, with staff always around keeping it clean and safe.

The main restaurant food was some of the best we had in Barbados. Its a tad more expensive than other places on the island, but the convience of it and its pituresque scenery more than made up for it. The staff were helpful and really good with my 11month and always made us feel welcome.

We stayed in a room with a kitchenette which had all the facilities we needed. It was spacious with views of the grounds. We visited a few other friends hotel rooms whilst in Barbados and our was hands down the best. The housekeeping lady was absolutely lovely and the room itself was always impeccable.

Location isnt right in the centre of everything, but its 10 mins walk on the beach in the day to the gap, or a few mins in a taxi (which reception staff will book for you if there are none outside).

There is really nothing I could fault: from reception to bar to restaurant to the shop: everyone was so kind and helpful. Barbados itself is a beautiful island, and the Bourganvillea is a great place to stay and enjoy it.

My family and I have been coming here for 20 years. Right now they are in the middle of a major renovation, however, mouldy rooms are still unacceptable. My family and I all get I'll from the polluted room. One of them is asthmatic and was quite seriously ill. More than half the resort is closed. Most of the staff are wonderful, but we had two cleaning staff that were so rude that for the first time ever we refused to leave a tip. Doubt I'll ever return now. Which is such a shame.

The location on the beach was great! We loved our accommodations and having bfast looking at the surf! We heard the ocean at night from our balcony. There's 24hr security, especially around the beach area. We are still talking about the beauty of this place and we ache to return, soon!

Just spent 8 nights here for our honeymoon and had a wonderful stay. Front desk and management was super helpful and answered any questions that we might have. Our room was nice and the facilities overall were clean and well kept. There is definitely a need for updating in some areas, but I think they are working towards that. The beach is beautiful and just a short walk to Dover beach and St. Lawrence Gap where there are many dining options. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Barbados.

Excellent staff that tries to accommodate all guests individual needs with a smile and patience. Lovely clean rooms and beautiful grounds with trees, pools and plants mixed in between the buildings and bars, topped off by being framed against the beachside.

This was my second visit. We were so impressed with the first visit we went again
This holiday was spoiled by work being carried out, directly below our room, involving heavy electric and hammer drills, about which we were not warned. Since I was ill, and hadn't been able to eat for four days, I complained. The Customer Service person couldn't be bothered to visit to see how bad it was, merely calling me via the hotel telephone system and offering me a complimentary lunch as compensation.
I doubt service would have been so bad if Leena had still been there.
Suffice to say I do not expect to be paying a third visit!

Great resort! Absolutely beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. Clean beaches with big waves. Almost nightly entertainment. 3 pools that are well maintained. 2 restaurants with reasonable pricing for a resort. Beds were comfortable. Each room has a balcony. Our room also had a deck because they upgraded us to the honeymoon suite. Safe area to go for a walk.
Beware of the lack of elevators. Rooms are comfortable, if a bit outdated in areas. Our room had a very small kitchenette. Well stocked.
    Would definitely visit again.

Rooms are a bit dated. Location is great as is the beach. Compared to other locations around the St. Laurence Gap and Bridgetown, can't be beat. Beach foot traffic limited by a barrier South of the resort. Staff is generally solid/nice. Pool available wth pool bar. Top notch I would not call it, but delivers find it a bit pricey overall, but seems like the going rate. Wth it on a relative basis. Close walk to the bustle of St. Laurence Gap. Don't cab or rent a car. Buses are fantastic.
