Ok very clean rooms small it is close to the beach public transportation supermarket very easy to move around you can cook do laundry no one in your way will use it again

My friends and I stayed at Island Getaway for a very relaxing week. This cozy house is in the perfect location. It is a very short walk to a secluded beach with the calmest waters. It is in a great little town with everything you will need, restaurants right on the beach, fruit vendors, smoothies, and very friendly locals. The bus terminal is a 15 minute walk which allows you to access the whole island. You can't beat the price of the bus- $1USD.
Yolande, the host, made us feel so welcome. When we arrived, she excitedly waved us over and gave us a tour of the house, beach, and the town. As we were walking around, she told the neighbors she had guests and they always said hello to us whenever we passed. If you need directions in the town, the neighbors are very friendly. Throughout our stay, Yolande continuously checked on us and offered amazing recommendations. She recommended the best spots for scenic views, restaurants, and which buses to take. She truly wants everyone to experience the best of Barbados. Thanks Yolande!response / report this review -

I spent three lovely weeks at this immaculate apartment. Yolande went above and beyond to make my stay more comfortable. Location is perfect, 5 min walk away from the sea, 10 min walk into Speightstown. The apartment has everything you could possibly need, even a juicer! The neighbourhood is safe, lots of friendly people around. There is a local bar, 'Babbie's Cool Spot' that serve ice cold drinks and again, are very friendly. I really enjoyed my time here and long to be back! Barbados is a fantastic holiday destination, serene beaches, lovely food, friendly people and glorious weather!

Although I wasn’t originally supposed to stay at Island Getaway, I’m so glad I did! The apartment is lovely, with more than enough space and in a fantastic location, just a 5 minute walk to the beach and many shops and restaurants. The bus terminal is a short walk away and you can get to any part of the island from there! Upon returning, the buses stop just a few feet away from the property to save you the walk after a long day of exploring! Our host Yolande was very welcoming and gave us a thorough tour of the apartment and the town! Throughout our stay, she was always readily available to give suggestions and directions and always checked in at the end of the day to see how our adventures had turned out. Will definitely recommend Island Getaway to all my friends and will for sure stay here again when I come back to Barbados!

My friends and I stayed at Island Getaway for a few days. We had a wonderful experience. Yolande, the hostess, was VERY thorough in her tour of the place and local area. In addition, communicating with Yolande was never a problem. She answered all of our questions in a timely matter. Speightstown is not the most popular destination when visiting Barbados. However, it’s the perfect town to get to know the island. For those looking for an Island Getaway, this is the place to book!
