I have been to the Yarra Valley Chocolate Factory three times now and each time it gets better. The ice cream scoops are huge, the range of chocolates just gets better and the views are still beautiful. I love the celebration of Australian Bush Tucker infused chocolate.
Wonderful, and not just the chocolate! Admittedly I went on a Tuesday morning rather than on the weekend so the place was bordering on empty, perhaps during prime time there maybe a few more lines to contend with. The chocolate shop is on a beautiful green property surrounded by wineries and views of rolling hillsides. The shop itself has a cafe inside for light meals in addition to the main bulk chocolate dispensary. Everything was spotlessly clean and well stocked however even with few customers it was slow service as there was only one lady running around attempting to help many people at once (most staff were making the chocolate.)
Lastly there are signs at the entrance forbidding picnics and dogs so be prepared to leave buddy at home and buy lunch there. Worth a visit if you are just passing by or if wine is not your thing this is another great reason to visit the Yarra Valley.
This place is insanely busy on weekends, but the staff handle it beautifully. The prices are high, but the quality is higher. Their freeze dried chocolate covered strawberries are incredible and you can find some rare and truly delightful flavours here.
The cafe is probably the only pricing I find a bit hard to swallow, but there is clearly the demand for the food.
The grounds are gorgeous and there is plenty of parking.
A wonderful place to visit for locals and visitors alike. If you love chocolate, this is the first place for you! Their chocolate, mostly made on site, is beautiful. The cafe there serves various chocolate flavoured things, and their hot chocolate is some of the richest I’ve ever tasted. Everything is fairly reasonably priced, too. The setting is lovely, amongst the green fields of the Yarra valley. You can sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the scenery while you eat.
Great products, little pricy though. Anything I have had their was delicious! Very friendly staff and always very busy. Will go back for sure and would highly recommend!
If you love chocolate or ice cream this is the place to go.
You can taste test the chocolate with free tasting, but to really have the experience it is worth ordering some sensational dessert from the menu. The hot chocolate is great and the ice creams are very good. There is also lots of chocolate items to buy and take with you.
My only complaint is that it is often very busy - but that is just because i is that good.
Perched right on top of the hill, you can never ignore its commanding presence as you drive along Melba Highway! That crowd! Tourist buses lining up the road.. Such is success! We drove in to check it out after a long walk around the area. They serve ice creams of all sorts!! As we walk into the shop, we were welcomed by chocolates of all sorts as well! There was also chocolate buttons for tasting!
I just love their signature giant brownie slices! $8 each, served with chocolate!
Talking of success, this is one of them! Well done folks!
Brilliant, a total success in terms of a regional attraction. Much better prices than other similar premium choc shops. Amazing views. It is a victim of its own success, though, often being crowded to the point of being bad, therefore, try and come a little outside of peak times, such as Sunday afternoons.
What a great place to take a rest and have a cone. It's a little out of the way but if you've planned your trip well it can be a great break to your journey. There is lot of space to have a picnic, play ball, and let the children run around. The chocolate store itself is neat in that they have a display window where you can watch the chocolate being made, complimentary chocolate to try, and an excellent array of chocolate products.
I had a day trip out to this place and it was totally worth the trip out here. Loved how they gave out free chocolates, which we ended up buying as they were so delicious.
Sitting at their cafe, eating ice cream and coffee was amazing. The view was worth it. This is what holiday should be like!
Definitely worth the stop. Best ice cream and very tasty chocolate. Although a little expensive it's well worth it. Very busy later in the afternoon so best to try and visit early in the day!
Some chocolate was ridiculously expensive but I was impressed with the amount of effort put into each piece. Enjoyed the aspect of having an entire bowel of white, dark and milk chocolate just sitting there for your taking as you enter. The chocolates I tasted were delicious.
Wow! This place was absolutely fantastic! Those chocolate designs in the display window blew my mind, who knew you could get so detailed with chocolate. Wd purchased chocolate covered coffee beans and rocky road and boy will we be back to buy our weight in those! Delicious. With lovely staff, plenty too look at and a welcoming environment (on a weekend too!) It is a great place to visit.
