Big site with a lot of long term campers. Staff is nice but amenities require some deep cleaning. BBQ is new and very clean but no power and almost a slow cooker, subsequently not suitable for steaks. Direct next to the beach with direct access but no beach view. Water of the taps is brown. There are standing many old couches, which are not suitable for outdoor and give the site a Shabby impression! Might be different impression when crowded during main season. 38 bucks for powered, 32 for non powered site.

Just returned from a week here. Kid friendly and very safe. Bush campsites are good but no grass, just very fine dirt so lots of mess with kids.

bbq facilities are good for camping without needing stove etc.

Shop has ice milk bread etc.

Beach great for swimming and boogy boards with very small surf over past week and no currents or rips that I detected.

Caravan park could use a facelift but is a nice spot to get away from civilisation.

    Waratah Bay
Stretching from Sandy Point to Walkerville, Waratah Bay is a stunning sweep of white sandy beach with panoramic views across to Wilson’s Promontory. You can walk for miles here without seeing another soul – even in summer. Better still, with its flat sandy bottom, the surf is generally very safe. Up the Sandy Point end, you’ll find Shallow Inlet, which is not only an amazing bird habitat but also a popular windsurfing and kite surfing site. In fact a speed sailing record was set here in 1993. (There are lifeguards during summer at Sandy Point.)
