Enjoy Going To Thornton's Recycling Depot As It Is One Bus Ride To Get There. (281 From Park Terrace Straight There) Only Question I Have "Is It Open Today Being New Year's Eve"
This is the recycling shop closest to me, I’ve lived in this area 2 years and I would not recommend taking your bottles and cans there. They go by weight with your cans which I’ve never heard of as I’ve been to a few cans & bottle shops before and I’ve never received such a low amount for my cans and bottles. Very disappointed as this was my second time going there because my first encounter with the shop made me not want to go there. The staff seem nice but I felt very uncomfortable as they was nicer over the phone than in person.
They charged me GST as well which has never happened before to me at any other recycling place. I’ve attached a photo of my receipt for proof. So I highly recommended going elsewhere if you’re looking to get your cans and bottles done. I felt like I was being charged not served.
It was a public holiday (Labor Day). I looked on it Web site and it mentions it open 10am - 4pm on public holidays. I get there to find out. It closed on public holidays 😡
If 0 stars was an option I would have selected it.
Our ticket was lost and the boss claimed we only had 350 crushed cans in a 240L bin. We have since counted our next collection of cans and we have 124 cans and the bin is only 15cm full. That doesn't add up if you ask me..
We will never have this company collect from us again, staff are rude and grumpy.
Drove in, sign says stay in your vehicle. Surlry looking young bloke walks over, says NOTHING. I pop open the boot, surly bloke seems to struggle opening it somehow. I jump out and let him know it's open he only needs to lift it. Again surly bloke says nothing. He then proceeds to THROW the packaged recycling from the boot to the ground in a perceived hissy fit. Surly bloke then walks off, returns soon afterwards with cash. He hands the cash, and guess what? He Again SAYS NOTHING. Having a bad day I'd say. So in future I will go elsewhere and try to get basic common courtesy.
